Meet Kelly Suazo-Davis of ANCHOR In in Aurora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Suazo-Davis.

Kelly M Suazo-Davis, MA, is a business woman, wife, mother, and entrepreneur. After holding a rewarding and successful career for over 15 years in the Department of Defense and private sector Kelly leaped into entrepreneurship. Today, she is the CEO and Founder of ANCHOR In, a consulting firm dedicated to empower and train people to become intentional leaders in both their personal and professional spheres of influence. Her bold and courageous entrepreneurial journey began in 2010 when she launched Suda Fashions, Inc. A women’s accessories boutique offering exclusive and one-of-a-kind merchandise, serving women across the country. Suda was sought after by many in the accessories industry which led to Kelly accessorizing and hand selecting pieces to style models for New York Fashion Week. Four years later in 2014, Suda opened its first brick and mortar location in Texas leading to rapid growth leading Kelly to make a strategic decision to sell Suda Fashions, Inc in 2015. Kelly is a frequent inspiring speaker and mentor to women in business. Her passion for leadership development and advocacy has forged a purposeful journey to serve men and women in the military, across the industry, and within her community. She’s had the honor to lead speaking engagements and seminars across the country to include Military Installations-Equal Opportunity Leadership Summit, The Commons on Champa, CO, Women of Denver, CO, Sede De Superación Personal (Personal Supervision Headquarters) NC; Worldwide-Military Spouse Advocacy Network; and Junior League of Texas. As a prominent Latina businesswoman and a leader in the community she boldly serves all people.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The idea to launch my first business venture came at a time where I was emotionally hurt and seeking answers to why my hero, best friend, forever petty partner, my mother was no longer with me on this earth. That pain led me to discover my entrepreneurial calling and reminded me of the bad bass woman my mother was daily. For the last ten years at times it’s still tough to navigate some of the business challenges that I face. However, the deep-seated knowing that being a businesswoman is where I operate out of my genius; brings pure daily joy.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment in my career occurred in 2009 when I had the amazing opportunity to be part of a roundtable discussion with FLOTUS Mrs. Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. With 10+ years of experience working in social services, I shared my insight for the development of military spouse educational pathways and workforce development initiatives. Many of which are still utilized within the military community to facilitate opportunity and career stability for military spouses.
