Meet Layne Stowell of Elevated Health Coaching in Parker

Today we’d like to introduce you to Layne Stowell.

Layne, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for health and fitness. Unfortunately, my view on health was based around how I looked and the number on the scale, not how I felt. As a result, at the age of 13, I started dieting. As I grew, I discovered diet pills, excessive caffeine consumption and any other quick fix on the market to shed a few pounds. Over the years this caused constant anxiety and drama around food as well as continuous swings in my weight. 

I lived with an extremely strong diet mentality, and a daily battle of an all or nothing approach. You know what I am talking about, that feeling when you either eat the whole pizza, all of the breadsticks and the ice cream sundae, OR you only eat the side salad with water? Sound familiar? Exercise took the same form, either I worked out for an hour and a half or nothing at all because it wasn’t worth it. My idea of “good health” was filled with deprivation, restriction, and overwhelm.

I remember the day this all changed. I remember sitting at my kitchen table thinking of my future, my marriage, my future babies, my friendships, and my happiness. Today, I eat freely, without diets, deprivation or overwhelm. I exercise for strength and increased energy, and my weight is easily maintained with no great fluctuation. 

Good health is no longer defined by extremisms but instead defined by the daily choices I make to feel my best. I choose to fuel my body, move my body and manage my stress in a way that allows me to be the mom I want to be, the wife I know I can be and the business owner that has the strength to keep going. My commitment to my health is my biggest strength, not my biggest weakness and unlocking this has been the best thing I have ever done. This freedom is what truly drives me to help others because everyone deserves this same clarity. With good health on your side anything is possible!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
At times, the health and wellness industry has proven to have a few challenges. So often, people are looking for the quick fix or magic pill when it comes to their health journey. Let me be the first to tell you, this does not exist! Good health is a lifetime commitment not a 30-day program. This problem is due to the diet culture we have created and is causing unnecessary overwhelm for individuals. To me, this is motivating to reach even more people. I strongly believe in cutting this overwhelm by empowering individuals with the proper tools, knowledge and habits to last a lifetime!

Elevated Health Coaching – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I am a certified health and lifestyle coach and the owner of Elevated Health Coaching. Have you ever set a personal health goal and not achieved it? Don’t worry…we all have, and this is where a health coach comes in! My programs offer step by step solutions with the proper tools, support and accountability to make success inevitable.

This is not a one size fits all approach because I understand that everyone’s health journey and lifestyle is unique. When I work with an individual, I create a personalized plan, tailored to this uniqueness.  

I specialize in weight loss, increased energy and kicking the overwhelm of the diet culture for good. My programs consist of private one on one coaching, group coaching and monthly workshops/classes. Consistency is the name of the game here, and as a result I take coaching clients in person and over the phone. It’s time we stop using our busy schedules as an excuse to sideline our health. 

My most popular program is “Your Total Health Transformation: 90-day Intensive.” This is a 90 day, private one on one coaching program for anyone looking to lose weight and/or increase their energy levels. This is my solution to fight the diet culture and to help individuals uncover how to finally feel their best!

If I were to ask, “do you have a plan for your health?” what would you say? John Maxwell said, “Hope is not a strategy.” My job is to create your ideal strategy for achieving and maintaining your specific health goals. To ensure this is the right fit I offer a free 45-minute strategy session, uncovering specific goals, how coaching can help and a guaranteed first step to take towards success. 

I have so much passion behind what I do. I love meeting and getting to know anyone ready to take the first step!

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
It may seem simple, but I get so excited when I hear from clients who have gone through my program and are practicing what we discussed on their own. For example, a few weeks ago an old client called me and said she stopped in the middle of her day to feed her body a healthy meal. This seems so simple, right? But when we worked together, one of her biggest obstacles was her busy schedule causing her to skip meals and therefore suffering from headaches and fatigue…can anyone relate? My goal is to help individuals create a strategy for their heath, and establishing these habits on a daily basis. So, I just love when I hear from clients that they are putting it into action! These daily actions are what compound into long term success!
