Meet Lex Gribbons of KAOSTHELABEL in Morrison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lex Gribbons.

Lex, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I always knew from a younger age that I was a very creative person, and being able to have an outlet that lets that creativity manifests into something beautiful is incredibly important. I had always dreamed of starting my own clothing company but was too afraid it was never in the cards for me or that I was not capable to do so. At the start of 2019 and myself turning 20 years old, I got this huge kickstart of passion and just went for it. All the fear that I had felt for the last couple of years or hesitation was completely gone. I knew that the longer I went on being afraid to take risks, or being afraid to see my own potential would ultimately be the death of me so I jumped into the deep end head first!

Not being a graduate in fashion, or entrepreneurship or even business did not hold me back either! As well as being a younger female with no big team behind me either, I think anyone is capable of anything they put their mind to. Yes as cheesy as it is you will never know what you’re capable of until you believe you are so yourself. KAOSTHELABEL has been in works for almost a year now with all the groundwork and we are on set to launch in the beginning of 2020, and we couldn’t be more excited! If I were able to see a year ago how far we have come and what we are set to launch I probably would have been in absolute shock! KAOSTHELABEL is all about breaking boundaries and being different, we wanted to apply that in the clothes! Don’t be afraid to get out there and set records.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not! Having to teach myself everything about starting a business as well as how to manufacture and produce custom pieces on their own was a struggle. The struggles are the fun part as crazy as it sounds because they help you grow. I’m not sure if any business owner can ever say that has a perfectly “smooth” road! You learn something new every day and every struggle is a challenge. It keeps it interesting at least!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about KAOSTHELABEL – what should we know?
KAOSTHELABEL is a new urban streetwear company. We wanted to combine fashion from the early 90s with fashion from the now. Clothing is something everyone has to have and it can be the most expressive thing about people! We specialize in clothing for the misfits and show stoppers of today. We wanted nothing more than to bring something to the table that can make people feel good and want to show off a little.

I think I can speak for all of us when I say we are the most proud of what we want to accomplish as a company, we are currently working on donating 5% of all proceeds we make to foundations that are giving back to people in need and helping rebuild the planet. What sets us apart from other companies is the fact that we want to be a little more real with our customers and people in general. We are all human and we want you to feel you in our clothes. We exist to build others up and inspire.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Optimism and determination are for sure the characteristic that got me here today! Being able to see the end goal in my mind and knowing we can all make this company something beautiful is the reason why I can say we are launching within the next couple of months!
