Today we’d like to introduce you to Logan Eden.
Logan, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Schooling was rough for me growing up, so thinking of something that I can productively do after I graduated seemed impossible. All I knew is that I loved making people feel beautiful and confident in themselves, but that’s not a subject you can choose at any regular college. That’s when I met my now business partner, Erin Hill, who was currently starting her career in Aesthetics. After getting a few services done, the way I felt tremendously changed my attitude and my confidence. Knowing that was something that I can do and enjoy every aspect of the process doing it, I was hooked. I went to school and worked independently since graduating.
But after working in several different types of spas and studios, I realized that I wanted to create my own space that felt like I can truly give the clients a comfortable, yet upbeat experience. So in 2019, I found someone who shared the same values and brought their own spunk to the table. Being only 20 at the time, and coming from a family where I was the first to graduate high school and find a fulfilling career path, I felt very blessed not only because I have proven myself to be able and to be worth it, but to also be actively doing something that makes me feel this happy all the time.
Has it been a smooth road?
I grew up living in and out of homelessness. So from a young age, I had promised myself that when I was able to, I would make something of myself. On top of that, at a young age, I’ve also dealt with a severe anxiety disorder and a mild depressive disorder, and it followed me as an adult. Although, as an adult now, I’ve learned productive ways to deal with them. But It made dealing with social life, especially school, hard. I missed a lot of schooling, leaving me to start my senior year of High school with nine credits, needing 25 to graduate. That’s about the time I discovered Aesthetics. I was so passionate about pursing that field, I put myself in online school and graduated on time. I’ve worked several jobs simultaneously while building my clientele and saved enough money to finally go full time running my own studio and being 100% independent.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Simply Skin 719 story. Tell us more about the business.
Simply Skin 719 is a small, home away from home type, beauty studio. My partner, Erin, is basically family so the “home-like” atmosphere is very much there. We offer permanent makeup, lash extensions, several different types of facials, waxing, spray tanning and CBD body treatments. We try to take the most holistic approach for every service. Using only products that have ingredients everything we need and nothing we don’t. I specialize in lash extensions and body treatments (spray tanning and CBD).
What sets me apart from other people for doing lashes is that comfortability, health, and longevity are my most important values while maintaining the ability to create different styles ranging from natural and flirty, to full and dramatic. With the body treatments, I found that CBD has helped me, along with others with all sorts of internal and external issues. Being able to deliver that relief to others either by itself or in a spray tan, and using naturally derived products is rewarding. I’m proud to say as a small independent business, I’ve created a space that people can relax and get a service that makes them feel like a whole new person when they leave.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
This industry is forever changing and with modern studies and technology advancements, it’s changing more and more rapidly. I cant wait to see how we continue to grow as a community and all the new ways we can continue making people feel and look beauty in their own skin.
