Meet MacClain Figueroa of Radventurers CO LLC / Rad Media LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to MacClain Figueroa.

Hi MacClain, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been anything but traditional. Before launching Radventurers, I spent years working in enterprise risk governance and compliance within the financial industry, including supporting large scale regulatory and operational programs at Wells Fargo during one of the most heavily scrutinized periods in modern banking. That experience taught me structure, resilience, leadership, and how to operate under pressure, but deep down I always knew I wanted to build something more personal, creative, and community driven.

Outside of my corporate career, I’ve always been deeply passionate about storytelling, adventure, music, gaming culture, media creation, and bringing people together through shared experiences. In many ways, Radventurers was not something I suddenly invented as an adult. It was really an evolution of who I’ve been since I was young.

Growing up in Colorado, I was always the person organizing adventures for my friends. Since my teenage years, I spent countless weekends exploring the mountains and searching for the best hidden spots for mountain biking, airsoft, paintball, snowboarding, camping, kayaking, paddleboarding, and outdoor exploration. Long before social media or outdoor tourism became saturated, I was already guiding people into experiences that felt exciting, immersive, and memorable. I loved finding places most people overlooked and creating moments that felt larger than life.

That passion for adventure was paired with a lifelong dedication to discipline and teaching. I trained in Shaolin Xuan Fa Kung Fu and eventually became a black belt instructor, currently holding the rank of 2nd Degree Black Belt. Martial arts taught me leadership, patience, mental focus, adaptability, and the importance of building confidence in others. Looking back now, many of those same principles naturally carried over into how I lead tours, teach riders, and create experiences through Radventurers. Whether someone is stepping onto an e bike for the first time or learning how to ride a SNO GO snow bike, I enjoy helping people overcome hesitation and discover what they’re capable of.

Music also became another major part of my journey. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a minor in Music from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and I continue to work as both a music teacher and choir director. Music strengthened my understanding of rhythm, emotion, storytelling, and audience connection, which later became incredibly valuable in content creation, media production, and experiential tourism. In many ways, Radventurers combines all of these worlds together. Adventure, storytelling, teaching, creativity, discipline, and community all became part of the company’s DNA.

Over time, I began to realize there was an opportunity to create a completely different kind of outdoor tourism company in Colorado. I saw that many traditional tours focused only on transportation or sightseeing, but very few created emotionally memorable experiences that blended local lore, storytelling, outdoor adventure, accessibility, and technology. That realization ultimately led to the creation of [Radventurers CO](https://radventurers.site)

What started as a vision for guided e bike adventures in Colorado evolved into a broader mission centered around experiential tourism and outdoor accessibility. We began creating guided e bike tours around places like Red Rocks, Morrison, Bear Creek Lake Park, and Castlewood Canyon while also focusing heavily on bicycle safety advocacy and education. I wanted people to feel immersed in the places they were riding through rather than simply renting a bike and following a map.

Today, Radventurers has become known for guided e bike tours, e bike rentals near Denver, Red Rocks, and Morrison, as well as SNO GO snow bike experiences designed to make outdoor recreation more approachable for beginners and families. We focus heavily on helping people experience Colorado in a more immersive way while promoting safe and responsible riding practices. Our goal is not simply to rent equipment, but to create unforgettable experiences that connect people with Colorado’s landscapes, culture, and sense of adventure.

As the company grew, we expanded into storytelling driven experiences, tactical themed adventure rides, and winter SNO GO snow bike operations designed to make mountain recreation more approachable for people who may not feel comfortable skiing or snowboarding. One of the things I’m most proud of is helping introduce outdoor adventure experiences to people who otherwise may have felt excluded from them.

Alongside Radventurers, I also continued building my media and content creation background through RAD Media LLC and my online platforms. That combination of media, storytelling, and tourism has become a major part of our identity. We don’t just rent equipment, we create experiences and narratives people remember.

Alongside building the company, I’ve also continued writing and creating media centered around travel and outdoor recreation, including my book [Ride America: Best E Bike Trails Coast to Coast](https://www.amazon.com/Ride-America-Bike-Trails-Coast/dp/B0H11MMMSQ/ref=zg_bsnr_g_290116_d_sccl_1/138-1970922-3976355?psc=1), which highlights some of the best e bike destinations across the United States.

Over the years, our work has received recognition including being named a Gold Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists, along with features recognizing our efforts in experiential tourism, e bike advocacy, and accessible outdoor recreation. Our journey and mission were also recognized by [Marquis Who’s Who](https://www.24-7pressrelease.com/press-release/533476/marquis-whos-who-honors-macclain-figueroa-for-advancing-experiential-tourism-through-e-bike-tours-sno-go-adventures-and-advocacy-for-safe-accessible-and-responsible-e-bike-use) for advancing experiential tourism through e bike tours, SNO GO adventures, and advocacy for safe, accessible, and responsible outdoor recreation. Subsequently, I was recognized as a Top Executive in Marquis Who’s Who Top Executives Feature found here: [Marquis Who’s Who](https://marquistopexecutives.com/tag/radventurers-co/)

Today, the vision continues to expand far beyond what I originally imagined when Radventurers first began. While Colorado remains home base and the foundation of everything we do, we have started exploring opportunities that could bring our style of experiential adventure tourism to an international audience as well.

One of the most exciting developments currently in progress involves exploratory work and relationship building efforts connected to Tokyo, Japan. While I’m limited in what I can publicly discuss at this stage due to active NDA agreements and ongoing partnership conversations, I can say that the opportunity aligns strongly with our long term vision of blending outdoor adventure, storytelling, technology, accessibility, and immersive tourism experiences in a completely new way.

What makes the opportunity especially meaningful to me is that it reflects something I’ve believed for a long time…adventure and human connection are universal. Whether someone is riding through the foothills near Red Rocks in Colorado or exploring cultural destinations abroad, people are searching for memorable experiences that feel authentic, emotionally engaging, and different from traditional tourism.

Part of our ongoing exploration internationally involves looking at how emerging technologies, guided mobility experiences, and experiential storytelling can work together to create tourism experiences that are more interactive, inclusive, and community driven. At the same time, we remain deeply committed to responsible recreation, rider safety, and preserving the authenticity of the communities and environments we operate within.

For me personally, it’s incredibly rewarding to see an idea that started with showing friends hidden mountain trails in Colorado slowly evolve into conversations that may eventually influence experiential tourism on a much larger scale. Even as the opportunities grow, though, the mission remains exactly the same as it was from the beginning: helping people reconnect with adventure, community, creativity, and the outdoors in a way that feels exciting, welcoming, and meaningful.

At its core, though, the mission remains very simple. I still love introducing people to adventure the same way I did growing up in Colorado with my friends. The scale may have changed, but the heart behind it never really did.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road, and honestly, I think that’s true for most entrepreneurs building something original from the ground up.

One of the biggest challenges has been creating a business that doesn’t fit neatly into a traditional category. Radventurers is not just an e bike rental company, a tour company, or a media brand. It blends experiential tourism, storytelling, outdoor recreation, safety advocacy, media production, technology, and community building into one ecosystem. While that uniqueness has become one of our biggest strengths, it also meant there wasn’t really a clear roadmap to follow.

In the early stages, there were constant challenges around funding, scaling, public perception, and simply getting people to understand the vision. Outdoor tourism can already be competitive, but introducing concepts like storytelling driven e bike tours near Denver and Red Rocks, tactical themed experiences, or SNO GO snow bike accessibility programs often meant educating people on entirely new ideas before people could fully understand the value behind them.

There have also been challenges connected to the rapidly evolving e bike industry itself. E bikes exploded in popularity very quickly, and with that came confusion, misinformation, and public concern around safety and regulation. A big part of our mission became advocating for responsible riding, rider education, and safe integration of e bikes into communities and trail systems. Sometimes that meant having difficult conversations or pushing back against negative stereotypes surrounding e bikes and outdoor recreation.

On a personal level, one of the hardest moments in my life came in 2016 when my father passed away. I never had an older brother growing up, so my dad was much more than just a parent to me. He was my foundation, my role model, and the person I looked to as an example of how to conduct myself as a man. Losing him was devastating and forced me into a period of reflection and growth that changed my perspective on life permanently.

I think after losing someone that important, you begin to look at time differently. You realize how valuable experiences, memories, and human connection really are. In many ways, that loss helped shape the deeper purpose behind Radventurers. It reinforced my desire to create meaningful experiences that bring people together, strengthen families and friendships, and encourage people to truly live rather than simply go through the motions of daily life.

Like many small business owners, there were also tremendous personal sacrifices involved. Building a company while balancing a demanding corporate career, family responsibilities, teaching music, content creation, and community involvement required an enormous amount of time and energy. There were periods where growth felt slow, uncertainty felt overwhelming, and it would have been much easier to stay comfortable and play things safe.

At the same time, I think those struggles helped shape the company into what it is today. My background in enterprise risk management taught me how to remain calm under pressure and continue moving forward even when conditions are uncertain. Martial arts taught me discipline and resilience. Music taught me creativity and emotional connection. And losing my father taught me the importance of legacy, integrity, and making the most of the time we have.

Ironically, some of the biggest obstacles also created some of the greatest opportunities. Because we were forced to think differently, we ended up building a brand that feels authentic and emotionally connected to people rather than simply transactional. We’ve built a community around adventure, storytelling, accessibility, and shared experiences, and I think people genuinely feel that when they ride with us.

There’s still a long road ahead, and entrepreneurship never really becomes easy. But every challenge has reinforced why we started in the first place: to create experiences that inspire people to reconnect with adventure, the outdoors, and each other in a meaningful way.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
[Radventurers CO](https://radventurers.site/) is an experiential outdoor tourism and adventure company based in Colorado that specializes in guided e bike tours, e bike rentals, SNO GO snow bike experiences, outdoor storytelling adventures, and bicycle safety advocacy. At its core, the company was built around one simple idea: adventure should feel immersive, memorable, welcoming, and accessible to everyone.

What makes Radventurers different is that we are not simply renting equipment or guiding people from point A to point B. We focus heavily on creating emotionally engaging experiences that blend Colorado’s natural beauty, local history, storytelling, technology, and community into something people genuinely remember long after the ride is over.

Our guided e bike tours near Denver, Red Rocks, Morrison, and Castlewood Canyon are designed to help people experience Colorado differently. Instead of just riding past landmarks, guests become part of the experience itself through immersive storytelling, hidden local history, adventure driven routes, and interactive experiences that feel more personal and authentic than a traditional tourism model.

We also specialize in helping beginners feel comfortable entering outdoor recreation. A large portion of our guests are people who may not normally consider themselves cyclists, mountain bikers, or winter sports enthusiasts. That’s something we take a lot of pride in. Whether someone is stepping onto an e bike for the first time or trying a SNO GO snow bike instead of skiing or snowboarding, we focus heavily on encouragement, safety, accessibility, and creating a welcoming environment.

Another thing that sets us apart is our strong focus on advocacy and education. As e bikes rapidly grew in popularity, we saw a need for more responsible rider education and community awareness. We actively promote safe riding practices, bicycle friendliness, trail respect, and responsible integration of e bikes into communities and recreational spaces. That commitment helped earn Radventurers recognition as a Gold Bicycle Friendly Business by the League of American Bicyclists, which is one of the achievements we are most proud of as a company.

Our brand is also deeply connected to storytelling and media creation. Through RAD Media LLC and our online content platforms, we blend tourism with video production, adventure storytelling, gaming culture influences, photography, and digital media. That creative background allows us to approach tourism in a way that feels cinematic and emotionally engaging rather than transactional.

One of the things I’m personally most proud of is that Radventurers has stayed authentic while continuing to grow. We’ve built the company around passion, creativity, and human connection rather than simply chasing trends. A lot of people who ride with us say they leave feeling less like customers and more like they became part of an adventure.

Looking ahead, we are continuing to expand our vision through new partnerships, emerging technologies, and exploratory international opportunities while staying rooted in the same values that started the company in the first place. We want people to reconnect with the outdoors, reconnect with each other, and rediscover a sense of adventure that many people lose as life becomes more fast paced and digital.

At the end of the day, we want readers to know that Radventurers is about more than bikes or tours. It’s about creating experiences people carry with them long after the ride is over.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
One thing that tends to surprise people about me is that outside of the adventure tourism world, I’m heavily involved in both martial arts and music.

Most people first discover me through and assume my entire background revolves around outdoor recreation, mountain culture, e bike tours near Denver and Red Rocks, SNO GO adventures, and content creation. So when they learn I’m also a Shaolin Xuan Fa Kung Fu instructor holding a 2nd Degree Black Belt, the reaction is usually pretty unexpected.

Martial arts has been a major part of my life for years and shaped a lot of my mindset both personally and professionally. It taught me discipline, patience, composure, and how to guide people through challenges without overwhelming them. Looking back, a lot of the leadership style and confidence building approach behind Radventurers came directly from my experience teaching and training in Kung Fu.

What surprises people even more, though, is the music side.

I’m a music teacher, choir director, and studied music while earning my Bachelor of Science degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Beyond teaching, I’ve written multiple original musical compositions across genres ranging from classical and jazz to rock, hip hop, and R&B. Music has always been one of the biggest creative outlets in my life.

What’s really unique is that many of those original compositions are actually featured throughout my storytelling and media content connected to the business. A lot of the cinematic adventure videos, emotional storytelling moments, and immersive narrative driven content we create through Radventurers and RAD Media LLC use music I personally composed. For me, it creates a much deeper level of authenticity because the storytelling, visuals, atmosphere, and sound all come from the same creative vision.

I think that combination of martial arts, music, storytelling, and adventure is part of what makes the brand feel different. Radventurers was never designed to feel like a standard tourism company. It was built more like an experience driven creative project rooted in adventure, emotion, and human connection.

So people often come expecting an outdoor guide and end up discovering the person behind the business also teaches Kung Fu, directs music, writes original compositions, and blends all of those worlds together into the experiences we create.
