Meet Maggie Wilson of Reiki Teacher Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggie Wilson.

Maggie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started working with Reiki nearly a decade ago after realizing I was in a very unhealthy and abusive relationship. I turned to Reiki as a means of battling post-partum depression and it saved my life. I was an avid astrologer at the time and had been studying Metaphysics and yoga since I was 12 when I left the Jehovah’s Witness organization, which I felt to have very cult-like qualities. I began working on myself extensively and solely gave myself Reiki for four years without laying my hands on another person until I knew every energetic aspect of my own field. I received Reiki when I was pregnant with my daughter while attending a music festival and my entire body was vibrating when I sat up off the table, I knew I wanted to give my gift to people who were on vacations or looking for an outlet of self-care beyond their regular routine.

At that moment, I shifted my career to know I could never be a stay at home mother. I began working on my private Reiki practice and moved from Tennessee to Colorado. I began facilitating my own workshops in Boulder and Denver and became the first black female Reiki Master to combine Kundalini Yoga, Reiki, and Cannabis education in a group workshop setting. Shortly after I began my events, within five months I had bridged the gap and successfully launched my events in the So Cal and Northern California markets. I combined my expertise as a high-end Cannabis consultant and a trained Cannabis Sommelier with my extensive background in Metaphysics to become a very special niche gateway in the industries of spiritual work and the paradigm shift which comes with educated conscious cannabis consumers.

Today I have taught Reiki alongside Shamanic meditation at numerous music festivals, developed an entirely new Metaphysical teacher training program for Reiki healers, and am a resident wellness coordinator for a luxury cruise line which joins award-winning musicians in the Bahamas every January. I have two beautiful children who are attuned to Reiki and know about the basics of energetic healing with the connection of the mind, heart, and gut brains. I have spoken to large groups and on panels about the benefits of energetic healing and how Reiki is truly a lifesaver and spiritual catalyst.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I like to look back at my life and see my challenges as lessons. The road had not been an easy one but it had been a successfully ride! I was raised by a mother who was disabled nearly all of my childhood, I was adopted and never knew my birth parents, and this led to me developing very unhealthy relationship patterns. I have been had the police force used against me, I have been Cyberbullied on social media, and have had countless people try to use the judicial system against me. Once I became a mother my priorities shifted back to a healthy mindset when I started struggling with post-partum depression. I turned to more spiritually guided programs designed around self-worth and ended unhealthy relationships with friends and partners, this resulted in me having more joy in my life and ultimately meeting my life partner.

This triggered many people and resulted in many people betraying me, people trying to take my children from me, and former friends creating outright lies about me. The most wonderful lesson I’ve carried through the struggles is not to take anything personally. Everyone is fighting their own battle and when someone tries to come for you they only come for themselves. The struggles have taught me how resilient and strong I really am in the face of challenges. I wouldn’t have brought myself to this planet if I knew I would fail. So I know all my dreams will come true. I finally have a partner who treats me as his equal and counterpart and is truly the love of my life. My children are healthy and vibrant young beings who have seen me thrive through every challenge.

Reiki Teacher Training – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My business is engrossed in Reiki healings and practical application of attuning people to become Reiki Healers. I am known for being the “Metaphysical Mastermind” because my Reiki sessions, meditations, and workshops are so detailed with more than just the energetics of eastern medicine. I combine my background in psychology, criminal justice studies, astrology, and other esoteric practices to create an entire platform for healing. I’ve worked with members of The Wutang Clan to prominent Ru Paul Drag Race alumni. I am most proud of the gratitude people express when they receive a session from me. My clients and close colleagues are master manifestors, once they work with me once, something vibrationally shifts within their body, mind, spirit complex and they become better versions of themselves.

The joy of seeing someone be their truest most authentic magical self is the greatest gift of all. What sets me apart is I don’t accept excuses. If someone doesn’t want to invest in my services, it’s because they need to reevaluate their energetic relationship with money. I give people the hard truths that other healers would normally sugar coat. I can tell people the energetic causes of their physical ailments which always goes back to programmed thought patterns they picked up from their parents or grandparents. I initiate deep healing that forces people to be authentic with themselves and this truly opens them up to the changes they are seeking in their lives. I don’t hold their hand, I give them the push they need and they take the leap.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I know there are going to be many more moments in the future that I will look back on because I have had so many miracles, but I would definitely say a moment I look back on fondly at this time is being the Wellness Coordinator for JamCruise. Live music is one of the most healing aspects for me, I was in the school choir from elementary school to college and actually put myself through school by performing and getting a singing and dance scholarship. I incorporate music into all levels of my work and encourage all my clients and people I mentor to see live music. I prefer teaching in a group setting and learned this when I started my own events. There is a magic that comes with the Jamcruise culture that I have never experienced before. I was the first person to bring a Reiki workshop on the cruise ship and I get to start 2020 by joining this fantastic group of people who continually come back to this event and teach Reiki and Metaphysics in the Bahamas and Mexico! I love the life I have created. The team for JamCruise has given me the ability to expand my programming and be really creative with the surroundings and the culture of live music.
