Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcie Frantz.
Marcie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always known I wanted to inspire people. Help people. My dad is a truck driver, and my mom is a nurse. Helping people is in my blood. The “how” was never really a question. I just knew that’s what I was meant to do.
I was always obsessed with makeup and fashion. So much so, that when my grandparents took me to the store as a little kid, I preferred looking at purses and shoes over toys.
In 2011, I discovered the makeup world within YouTube. It changed everything for me. I became a part of it, and for 5 years I would tall about my life, show people how to do makeup looks, and hopefully inspire someone. I also started going to college to become an X-Ray Technician and Medical Assistant. (Fun fact, I met my husband there!)
During that time, I met dated and married my husband. In 2016, we decided to buy a school bus to turn into a tiny home / RV. This was one of the most life changing experiences for me.
Even though I’m not on YouTube anymore, I still believe my life mission is to inspire people.
I have 2 beautiful children who teach me patience, wonder and unconditional love every day.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not. One of the biggest struggles came while we were living on the bus. It was not the typical “Instagram worty” living situation you generally find when you look up “school bus conversion.” You see perfect, curated homes. Not the MONTHS if not years of blood, sweat, money and tears that went into building it.
I actually stopped making videos and blogging because I thought nobody wanted to see that. Because it wasnt what I had expected for our bus life.
Finding a place to stay was a joke for awhile. RV parks wouldn’t take us, because it was a conversion and older than 10 years.
We ended up staying at Standley Lake or in front of our friends house. Both had their own share of intense struggles.
It was full of positives, too. Like moving us from Denver to the Western Slope. Opening my mind to other people and ways of life.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Marcie Frantz – Frantzisms – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I have my blog, where I post adventures, fashion, recipes, and mom life. I like to think of my blog as the place people can go to see the “real life” vs Instagram. (Although there’s plenty of realness there, too.)
What I am proud of in my brand, is that I keep it real. I show people that I have struggles. That I am also a real life human person, with real life human problems. I want people to know we’ve all got shit to go through, and we are in it together!
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
For starters, I recently became the Grand Junction Chapter Leader for Gals That Brunch! I am beyond excited about that.
It’s been a dream of mine, to create events for people to find community and have fun. That’s exactly what Gals that Brunch is about!
I also have exciting things coming to my blog, like sharing other aspects of my life that I know other people deal with.
