Meet Marlene Delgado of Bombon Skincare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlene Delgado.

Marlene, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Two years ago, I decided I wanted a change in career I was a medical records clerk and felt I needed to do something more hands-on and wanted more time with my kids. I got a part-time job and went to school full time at Emily Griffith Opportunity School in August 2018 and became licensed in March 2019. I decided to open up my spa studio that summer. I wanted to provide affordable spa services for women.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have been a few struggles. Learning how to run a business has been somewhat tough.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I offer beauty and spa services. I specialize in brow shaping, airbrush makeup and facials. I am mostly known for lash lifts and brow shaping. What I am most proud of is that I offer affordable services without compromising the integrity of the products I use. My mission is to give every woman the opportunity to take care of themselves without breaking the bank. For the skincare portion of my services, I use Tao Skincare which is an organic skincare line that is woman-owned and locally made by an Esthetician here in Colorado. What sets me apart from others are definitely my prices you are getting the most bag for your buck.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I always liked helping my friends get dolled up. I would always offer to help do their eyebrows, makeup and anything beauty related. I was mostly shy and introverted, but I always had my makeup done and tried my best to look well put together. I liked playing soccer and making crafts.
