Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Mac Montgomery.
Mary Mac, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Montbello High School graduate, May 2006 with academic achievement awards for reading one million words and having a GPA of 3.0 or higher, age 17. The previous year as a Junior when I was 16, me and many other students witnessed our friend get stabbed to death at lunch from fighting, he passed away on his way to the hospital… I then became a Certified Radio and Television Announcer in April 2007 that is what began my journey at age 18.
Has it been a smooth road?
My dream was to be on the radio/Tv, I loved Denver’s top Radio Station for Hip Hop & R&B KS 107.5 FM. I became distracted with life chasing love and got in a lot of trouble for fighting. I went to jail for a total of forty days this one time and had a self-realization that this isn’t the life I want. Determined, I pursued my dreams, after satisfactorily completing probation for Defacing Private Property (2008) age 19. In 2011, I got back into College at the Community College of Denver for A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. I was able to get my Internship at KS 1075 in 2012 that I had previously made efforts to get “A Chance” to intern while attending Broadcasting School (in 2006/2007). While interning at KS 1075 Kathie J became my Mentor I learned so much from being around this phenomenal woman!! I had the opportunity to do a second internship which was uncommon, I executed every task given effectively and efficiently.
I had the opportunity to interview one of the first female rappers Mc Lyte for my first interview how amazing!!! (Sound cloud Mary MAC Montgomery Mc Lyte Interview) In addition, I got to meet Snoop Dogg, I worked with Baby Bash at Lincoln High School that was an Amazing Experience, I met TI, Kirko Bangs, Lupe Fiasco, Comedian Kevin James, Trina, Twista and many other big names in the entertainment world. I assisted with the KS 1075 Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas party Donating to the less fortunate for the Holidays. The New Year 2013 was Approaching and I was offered an opportunity to work at KS 1075 as a Promotion Assistant and on air Personality!!! I was 23 at the time and I didn’t pass the background check because of that fight when I was 19!
I was devastated and everyone laughed at me (Social media) saying “HA we knew you couldn’t do it”. Determined with my letter of Recommendation from Kathie J, I ventured on to Jammin 101.5FM Old School Jams (no background check). I worked as a promotions assistant learning the ins and outs of promotions from a different perspective than the Hip Hop Station in 2013. The day I was to meet with the program director for him to listen to my Air Check, I got fired because I was at the time on probation for a domestic violence case that further threw wrenches into my career path. I had my first TV appearance on People’s Court Judge Marilyn Milian, this girl sued me because I hit her car leaving the Club one night!! I went on to work regular call center jobs and thinking about my next move. In 2014, I had the opportunity to speak to the students at Lincoln High School as a Public Figure. In addition, I got to Meet Mozzy, Bone Thugs, B Legit, Mobb Deep, Boss Lady and Snow the Product, Reginald Hawkins (Sirus XM) and many other big names. I used to drink a lot to cope with the thought of not reaching my goals creating the life that I wanted which had harmful consequences.
In 2015, I got stabbed in my back with an unknown object that almost punctured my lungs because I told this lady to “pick up her dog poop”(I didn’t say poop) outside these apartments in South Denver. It took a very long time to rehabilitate myself to normal, my back still hurts to this day. She cut my black Victoria secret bra off at the metal clasp it was hanging by a thread!! I almost bled to death in my car; she probably thought she was cutting my spine! I got out of a violently abusive relationship and found myself again striving for success in Colorado Springs at The Blaze 98.5 FM in 2017. I had the opportunity to Produce the Mary MAC Show where I played Sunday night slow Jams and effectively produced interviews for production with Platinum Producer T Berry, Def Jams A&R Big Heff, Actor Keith Bossier, Jamal Williams CEO of Yardout Entertainment; International Entertainment Booking Agency, Jon Jon of the Old School R&B group Troop, Trap Beckham (Lil Booties Matter), Kuzzo Fly, as well as Chicago’s own DA Smart.
After becoming a mother in 2018, I overcame situational stress as well as dealing with a trauma stressor-related disorder. From being Robbed after receiving a large settlement from falling while pregnant after discovering Intimate photos of me being distributed in a Facebook group of 30K members as well as intimate videos being posted on pornhub without my consent, by someone close to me leaving me broke and homeless in 2019. Unable to pay off Student loan Debt to finish Colorado Technical University for Business Administration (One year left reached student loan limits).

A nonprofit organization that Assists Entrepreneurs with reaching their goals doing things that others don’t necessarily have time for. Such as online office assistance researching information for businesses ventures grants etc. Business consultation AKA The Business Plug!! I wanted to be the change I wanted to see in the world and establish a brand/foundation for women and everyone in general to continue to pursue their dreams no matter what challenges we must overcome to obtain them!! Working together with Dream Big Network to establish connections for future business.
