Meet Matthew and Jacquelyn White of Rusty Luck Printing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew and Jacquelyn White.

Please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Matthew decided to go into college with an art major. While in school he discovered his love for relief woodblock printing. He knew right away that one day he wanted to have his own shirt company. His sophomore year of school he had to have brain surgery, which required him to step away from school for a while. Around this time he and I met and were married a little over a year later. Throughout this time he used his creative skills to make things for us and friends. So, we decided to start his company online. About a year later we switched from relief printing to screen printing. This allowed for us to be more detailed, and to be able to put out custom designs quicker. We have since added custom etched glass, and printed hats to our inventory.

Has it been a smooth road?
We both have full time jobs on top of the business, this makes it a challenge to get orders out as quick as we would like. We also have struggled to build our customer base, since we are based solely online, through Facebook and Instagram, it has been hard to bring in new customers. Matthew is back in school, working to become an EMT, which has added another time struggle. Even though it can be a challenge sometimes, we both love what we do and we make sure we find time.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We specialize in custom orders, specifically t-shirts. We make custom designed t-shirts, hats, and etched glass. We have a library of designs that we can work from, but we also love to start from scratch with the customer’s idea, this allows for them to have a one of a kind item. We love that we can bring a customer’s idea to life. We take the time to talk with the customers to hear their idea and work to create a design they will love.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
We are located on the western slope, however we do most of our business online through Facebook and Instagram.
