Meet Michael Dowell aka Foevabeatz in Aurora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Dowell aka Foevabeatz.

Michael, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Early on as a child, my family struggles to make money, not having the best places to live, back in the 90s, sometimes even have to sleep in our minivan. After my parents had enough money in ’96 they brought a church and worked hard to keep it, and found success. I personally began doing music due to helping my parents church with the audio and soundboards. Foevabeatz the name people picked for me is due to people always asking me to beatboxing for them back then. while coming up I played football and basketball out in Lawton/Cache Oklahoma. Sports was fun but not what I really wanted to do.

Once my parents gifted me with my first computer in 2005 I began making beats and 2008 I recorded my first song and in 2009 I begun running studio time for other like-minded artists. 2010 I finished high school and went into the Army to help my family and support my firstborn kid. while in the army I built my brand and sound thanks to my unit being supportive (units name 303MI BN). After getting out the army I went full time into doing music and music video in 2013. I from fort hood, Texas to Denver Colorado in July of 2016 and have helped start TheZoo720 and LV Recordings to assist other artists with building their own sound and understanding the business side of the music industry.

Has it been a smooth road?
No, and yes. I’ve been in a number of situations where I’ve had to prove my work before being paid, i.e. free video shoot, a free mix and master, free collab or hook, anything to show my talents. with over obstacles I faced, I’ve found a way overcome them. I moved out to Denver Colorado with eight dollars to my name and a gas card and not even for night have I gone hungry. If you don’t believe in yourself no one will. But the music scene out here is making a shape and I’m glad to be apart of it.

Foevabeatz (Me) help where I see fit. Me and my team find ways to help the artist get more attention. I personally am a Producer/Engineer and Artist with over 50k followers on IG and 21k monthly listeners on Spotify and Soundcloud.

Me and my team LV have shot over 30 Local artists and 35 artists from other cities and state music videos.

I’ve personally have recorded over 110 artists in Colorado alone.

Reached over two million streams on streaming platforms and plan to continue to move forward and help others as well.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
This city is amazing I’m from the south so we don’t have huge buildings and cool artwork back home in Lawton Oklahoma. sometimes traffic can suck but honestly, if everyone is on the grind I can’t complain.
