Meet Naira Petrosyan of Elixir MedSpa in Centennial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naira Petrosyan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Naira. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always had passion helping people and caring for them, so I decided to enter healthcare industry, I started my career when I was 17 years old as Phlebotomy Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Assistant, and it was a start of my nursing career. In 2014 I have graduated from Denver School of Nursing with Bachelors of Nursing degree and like many others, got a job at the hospital. Working as a nurse on the floor and knowing that I can make a difference in people’s lives at the most venerable moments gave me a sense of fulfillment. Later on, I have joined Davita and became a nephrology RN, specializing in dialysis. I am still working for Davita and traveling to many hospitals in Denver Metro area to perform a life-saving treatment. I just love being a pro in a certain area and having a specialized skill. I am proud that I can make a difference in those who are critically ill. Educating people about kidney function and what can happen if we do not care of our bodies is a huge part of my job, but also sitting next to someone who is struggling to survive, and sometimes holding a hand of those who are dying – these experiences are worth those long hours I have to work, and that leg ache I get when I come home. There is nothing more important in our lives but having a caring soul next to you in the most painful and vulnerable moment of your life. and that is what nursing is all about. Several years ago, I decided to learn a new skill and enter a world of medical aesthetics. I always loved beauty, and people who worked in that industry always fascinated me. So I decided to take a course of injectables such as fillers and Botox by a well-known plastic surgeon, as a means to have a fun hobby. I did not even expect that I would get so addicted to this line of work, it became my way of relieving stress. I feel so calm and happy doing aesthetics. It promotes my creativity and imagination in many ways. Over the last three years, I have added many services to the list of injectables and finally risked and opened up my little spa in Centennial beginning of this year. This is my happy place, where I get to reset and enjoy every treatment I do, and there is no better compliment for me as seeing my clients happy and content with results. No matter how much I love hospital job, it can get very stressful and feeling burned out happens. At those moments, I remember my happy place and happy clients and everything in my life seems to have a balance.

Has it been a smooth road?
What’s worth is not easy and what’s easy is not worth it. Definitely was a very bumpy road and still is, but I feel like the older we get, it is always harder, there are struggles and obstacles on our way. Adulthood is not easy especially if you become a parent and business owner. In the past several years, I had two kids, worked a full-time job and started a business. I struggle daily with time management, finances and work/family balance, but it is all worth it.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Elixir MedSpa – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a proud owner of Elixir Medpa located in Centennial, just a few minutes away from IKEA. I do a lot of services, and some of them are my favorites. As I have mentioned above, I started with injectables – neurotoxins and fillers, but then I realized that I can not inject people who, in my opinion, in need of the improvement in the quality of their skin. Such as thorough extractions, exfoliation, lightening up their pigmentation, decrease in pore sizes and even just a basic skin nutrition and hydration. I always offer my clients a customized skincare plan, starting from thorough pore cleanse and corrective care, with injectables being the last step to seal the results. I incorporate lots of education in my free skincare consultations and give a chance to see before and after of some of my treatments. My favorite services are Platelet Rich Plasma – which is a potent and natural cocktail of growth factors that can reverse signs of aging and everything that comes with it such as sunspots, uneven tone, as well as diminishing acne scarring. Microneedling is also of the most popular services, and we customize it as well, with our signature Rhonda Allison products, focusing on anti-aging results, and some that diminish hyperpigmentation. We also do Carboxytherapy, Hydrafacial, Microdermabrasion, chemical peels and so much more. Services like “Game of Thrones Facial” and facial lifting massages definitely something unique about my Medspa. I am an official retailer of Rhonda Allison Skincare, all-natural and potent line of serums and anti-aging products. I consider myself an expert in injectables such as Botox and Jeuveau and use of dermal fillers for lip enhancement. I am so passionate about aesthetics I have to force myself to stop here in this interview… I always strive to expand my knowledge in aesthetics and keep taking continuing education classes. The progress does not stay still, so does education, so do I.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love Denver, mostly because of people, they just seem nicer than anywhere, approachable and nonjudgemental, always willing to help. What I do not like – is maybe unpredictable weather and dryness. It affects me a lot, my skin and my eyes are dry, but I keep taking care of myself and drink lots of water.
