Meet Najda Maria of Westminster

Today we’d like to introduce you to Najda Maria

Hi Najda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I left my home Santa Fe, NM after fifteen years and traveled to Hawaii. It was in that lush, tropical, magnificent beauty that I wrote my book, “”A Story About God’s Wife – Bubie’s Book”. Its message is of inclusivity and belonging, of embracing who we are and living our truth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I did not have a plan to write a book. However, one evening I heard a voice within me ask, “Will you write for me”? Yes, was the only answer, of course. But what do you want me to write? became the persistent question. It was several months later that Bubie came forward to let me know this was to be about her.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I offer Intuitive Counseling and Energy Healing. I have an abiding love and passion for supporting people in releasing struggle and trauma. As a writer, I have discovered the profound transformation that happens when we are free enough inside ourselves to open to the flow of consciousness that occurs in the creative process. This receptivity to flow is what we all are drawn to and it is this that I am dedicated to helping others discover within themselves.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
When I was 14 years old, I remember thinking, why were all of us are here on this planet. The response that came from inside was this. ‘The only reason to be here is to help other people. What other reason would compel us to travel all this way other than to bring the light.’

I just didn’t know what form that would take for me. I thought maybe I would be a nurse. I volunteered as a candy-striper at Mass. General Hospital in Boston. At the end of six months I realized since I couldn’t handle the sight of blood, I wouldn’t be a nurse. The persistent question of how I wanted to help set me on a path of exploring my inner world and the world of consciousness and healing.

When I was nineteen I began a meditation practice. From that point on I pursued spiritual practices from numerous traditions and began studying healing and consciousness.

I graduated from Middlebury College with a B.A. in English Literature. I later received certification as an Option Process practitioner and trainer. I am certified in Life Centered Therapy and am a certified Oneness Blessing energy healer. I have published articles in newspapers and magazines. A Story About God’s Wife, Bubie’s Book is my first book.

In my late twenties I helped establish a healing center for special needs children, their families and adults seeking personal growth. Since then healing has weaved its way through my life. My joy is being with someone as the clouds clear and hope, trust and love remain.

A Story About God’s Wife – Bubie’s Book is about my grandmother and my spiritual journey. I am deeply blessed and excited to share my story.
