Meet Natalie Dunn of Recoup in Rino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Dunn.

Natalie, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Recoup was started by a team of former athletes. Suffering injuries and spending time in training rooms led us to create a line of hot and cold therapy tools that bridge the gap between professional training rooms and at-home recovery.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting a business from nothing is always full of ups and downs. Launching the first product, the Cryosphere, we had a lot of learning curves with product development and manufacturing. One of early batches came with the sphere too big for the handle in 30% of the inventory. This was a huge problem but we were able to solve it by selling the ball alone for plantar fasciitis, leading us to an untapped market and customer base. We move quickly so with that come blunders but we are agile and are able to adapt and learn quickly on the go.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
We make muscle recovery products and are in the outpatient rehab space. We are the only brand in our space, focusing on temperature-controlled products. We created an entire category of cold massage rollers and our first two products are used by professional athletes in all five major leagues, including the Broncos and Rockies training rooms.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Our success is defined by making customers recover faster and feel better. Customer feedback lets us know constantly that we are on the right track and creating a line of products that make a difference for people of all types.
