Today we’d like to introduce you to Natasha Yeager.
Natasha, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’m a small town girl from Massachusetts. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Hospitality Management, I moved to Florida and worked as a restaurant manager. Working long hours, as well as nights and weekends, helped me realize I wanted to pursue my long time passion in Interior Design. Fast forward a few years, I graduated from the Art Institute of Colorado here in Denver. My career as an Interior Designer in the past 10 years has ranged from working in residential, model homes, and commercial projects. In my latest career I was a lead commercial designer at one of the fasted growing interior design and merchandising firms in the nation. In addition to working full time, in 2017 I started a unique plant and flower pop-up with a close friend. Six months ago I made a personal decision to leave my career as an Interior Designer and stay home with my children. My husband and I met 11 years ago through mutual friends and today have two beautiful children, ages 3 and half and 1 and a half. As a family we love music, antiquing, playing outdoors, and attending anything that has to do with food and wine. Current hobby includes fixing up our Vintage Gold Star trailer in hopes to road trip it to California, a favorite vacation spot or ours. I believe that everything in your life and home should have purpose and meaning and you should surround yourself with things that resonate and speak to you. In 2020, my plant and flower business, Floret, with be evolving into offering classes, gifts, and design services.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Owning a business always has its challenges. For Floret, the challenges were balancing full-time careers, family, and keeping the business going. The passion was always there, but the time commitment in the last year has been a challenge.
Please tell us about Floret. What should we know?
Floret is a Pop-Up flower and succulent company, that held markets around the Denver Metro area. It stared in 2017 with a vision of someday owning a truck to attend local markets. We search around the Denver area for reclaimed items to use for our pots and vases. Because of that, our look is unique. We believe that surrounding yourself with beautiful items that make you happy is so important. Floret is proud to find reuse, or discard items, and pair them with unique succulents, cacti, and flowers to make them beautiful again. In 2020, Floret is re-branding its services to include classes, gifts, and design services. The best way to stay in-the-know, is by following on Instagram.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think I would change a thing. Floret is still an evolving business, so more challenges and lessons are still yet to be discovered.
