Today we’d like to introduce you to Nayeli Barraza
Hi Nayeli, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about creativity—whether it was in the kitchen or on a screen. I spent 15 years as a chef, pouring my heart into helping restaurants thrive from the inside out. It was more than just cooking; it was about building something, creating experiences, and bringing people together. But then, the pandemic changed everything.
When COVID hit, the restaurant industry collapsed overnight. I lost my career, my stability, and everything I had worked for. As a single mom, I suddenly found myself with no income, no clear path forward, and the weight of uncertainty on my shoulders. I had to start over—not just for me, but for my child.
That’s when I turned to tech. I had always loved graphic design and marketing, but I never imagined it could be more than just a passion. With everything at stake, I threw myself into learning coding and web design—late nights, early mornings, and countless hours of trial and error. The more I learned, the more I realized that small businesses—especially minority-owned ones—needed accessible, high-quality digital solutions.
That’s how Three Dubs Web Design Lab was born. I wanted to create a one-stop shop for branding and web design that didn’t just offer a service, but also education, support, and long-term growth for businesses that might otherwise get left behind in the digital world. Today, we’re more than just a design company—we’re a community, helping others build, scale, and succeed.
I didn’t just change careers—I rebuilt my life. And now, I get to help others do the same.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not—this journey has been anything but smooth. Transitioning from the fast-paced world of professional kitchens to tech and entrepreneurship was like stepping into a completely different universe. There were moments of doubt, exhaustion, and feeling completely out of place.
Losing my career as a chef during COVID was devastating. One day, I was leading a kitchen, creating dishes, and helping businesses thrive—then, almost overnight, I had nothing. As a single mom, I didn’t have the luxury of time to figure things out. I had bills to pay, a child to support, and no clear idea of what to do next. The biggest struggle was starting over from scratch in an industry I had never worked in professionally.
I spent countless late nights learning coding, web design, and digital marketing—often while helping my child with homework or figuring out how to keep the lights on. The tech world can be overwhelming, and as a Latina and a woman in tech, I had to fight for credibility in spaces where I wasn’t always taken seriously.
Then came the challenge of entrepreneurship—learning to run a business, market my services, and price myself competitively, all while serving clients who often had limited budgets and little knowledge of digital branding. Many small business owners—especially minority entrepreneurs—know they need an online presence, but they don’t always understand why it matters or how to invest in it wisely.
Despite all of this, I kept pushing forward, fueled by the belief that affordable, high-quality web design should be accessible to everyone—not just big companies with huge budgets. Today, Three Dubs Web Design Lab isn’t just a business; it’s a community-driven effort to help minority entrepreneurs succeed in a digital world.
The road hasn’t been easy, but every struggle has made me more determined to create something meaningful—not just for myself, but for others who, like me, had to start over and fight for their dreams.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At Three Dubs Web Design Lab, we do more than just build websites—we help small and minority-owned businesses create a strong digital presence that grows with them. We specialize in web design, branding, SEO, and digital marketing, ensuring our clients don’t just get a website but the tools and education to succeed online.
What sets us apart is our commitment to ongoing support and affordability. Unlike most agencies, we offer unlimited edits and guidance while keeping our prices well below market—starting at just $245/month. This includes SEO optimization, Google Business setup, Google Maps and Apple Maps listing, email customization, and branding support—everything a business needs to stand out without breaking the bank.
What I’m most proud of is the impact we’ve made in the community. Seeing Latino and minority-owned businesses grow, book more clients, and gain confidence in their online presence is what drives me. Three Dubs Web Design Lab isn’t just about design—it’s about empowering businesses to thrive in a digital world.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is empowering minority-owned businesses with the tools and knowledge to succeed in the digital space. Too often, small businesses—especially those owned by Latinos and other underrepresented entrepreneurs—struggle to establish an online presence simply because they don’t have access to affordable, high-quality digital solutions or the education to navigate them effectively.
I started my company to change that. I believe that a strong digital presence shouldn’t be a luxury—it should be accessible to every business, regardless of budget or background. That’s why we offer not just web design but also ongoing support, unlimited edits, and education to help our clients grow.
At the end of the day, my goal isn’t just to build websites; it’s to build opportunities—helping small businesses get seen, grow, and create lasting success for themselves and their communities.
