Meet Nilsa Noel of iamnilsa in Aurora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nilsa Noel.

Nilsa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. I packed up and moved to Denver 10 years ago with my son. In 2017, I had been working in the mortgage industry for a while. I drove myself crazy. I was so stressed out with all the changes that the company had made. I had started getting sick and losing my hair, literally. One day, I realized that I couldn’t take it anymore. I turned in my two week’s notice.

I was scared, nervous, but excited! I couldn’t believe that I was able to do it. I jumped right into the entertainment industry. I had already been working on my comedy skits, but I started auditioning for roles in short films, going to casting calls, and searching for agencies. I landed a few roles in local movies, shows, and music videos. I walked on runways, photos shoots, collared with other artists on comedy skits, and even did a few stand up comedy shows.

Has it been a smooth road?
The road has not been easy. Initially, I didn’t find a good balance between doing what I love, working to pay the bills, and family. I found myself needing to work more and less time with my family and working on my passion.

I’d falling ill, again. This time, it lasted weeks and it put me in a bad financial situation. I started to not have any time to continue with auditioning and casting calls. It made me question if this was something I could even continue to do.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with iamnilsa – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
iamnilsa is more than what I do, it’s who I am. I provide entertainment. I provide enlightenment. I provide a smile.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I really enjoy the weather in Denver. The winters and great in comparison to Wisconsin. Unfortunately due to all the change here, traffic and construction was bound to happen.
