Meet Paige Kumpf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Kumpf.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Paige. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I first got into personal training almost on accident. I’d been training myself for a couple of years now, and had friends who would always ask me for advice. One day I’d picked up a catalog for a local college and saw a course on personal training, and decided to go for it! I was working a full-time office job and started training part-time before and after at a local gym. After training several years in person, I brought my business online, running online boot camps and working one-on-one with clients. I quickly discovered I could reach more women and grow my business much better virtually. Now, I have several programs, a membership program, online boot camps, and one-on-one clients.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has been a bumpy road with plenty of opportunities for learning. From pricing my services to understanding what clients are a good fit for me and vice versa. My biggest hurdle was the business side of things. I knew how to write solid programs and run them, but I didn’t understand much about marketing and running them from the business side. Hiring a business coach in 2015 was a big turning point in turning my side business into a full-time business and income.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m a personal trainer and nutrition coach, and I specialize in strength training and nutrition for women who want to either lose body fat or change their body composition. However, I never want this goal – or the approaches taken to get there – to be restrictive, obsessive, or do anything but enhance their lives. My goal is for the methods of change to be a lifestyle *and* help them see results.

I also take pride that anything I write in a client’s program is science-backed and has a specific reason for being there. There are no cookie-cutter plans or magazine recommendations here!

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Colorado is amazing for those who are striving to be in better shape. You can walk, hike, bike, run, ski, climb — just to name a few outdoor physical activities. To compliment this cardiovascular health, a solid strength training program can be extremely helpful. Gyms around the area – including the one I train my clients at – are very useful for that component of health.
