Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Rohrig.
Rachel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After graduating from CU Boulder, I started my own business, where I repurposed liquor, beer and wine bottles into glasses, lights, jewelry and so much more. This business took me to San Diego and eventually to Las Vegas, where we worked with the casinos to rescue thousands and thousands of bottles from the landfills and repurpose them into useful household items. This business taught me that anything is possible if you believe and if you work really hard. After selling that business – I moved home to Colorado, got my real estate license and met Todd Walsh! With his guidance and mentorship, I fell in love with commercial real estate. I am able to use my passion for entrepreneurship and love of getting to know people/businesses every day. There really is nothing better.
Has it been a smooth road?
Being an entrepreneur is hard. You get on the roller coaster every day and hope that you end on a high note. It was the most exciting and challenging part of my life. Being a boss and a leader was something that I didn’t take lightly. It’s really an important job – playing a role in people’s livelihoods. It takes it toll when times are hard and truly, there isn’t anything more exhilarating than when times are good. I truly feel like knowing first hand these feelings and having the grit to power through has made me really ‘get’ what my clients are going through.
Market Real Estate – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The Market Team consists of AMAZING humans. When I first met Todd, Heidi and Laura, I just fell in love with them as people. What it comes down to is that we truly care about each other and we care deeply about our clients and community. Not just about their success but them as humans. We pride ourselves in being our client’s advocates and helping them along the way. Yes, we close deals and help our clients lease, purchase and sell commercial real estate, and we are there with our clients, before, during and after – through all of life changes and seasons.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I am born and raised in Boulder. I love Boulder through and through. I believe that entrepreneurs are the backbone of our community and also our country. It has been very interesting, seeing how big players coming to town has changed our business landscape (*IE Google, Amazon). Having large tech companies has brought a lot of life and energy into Boulder and into the tech scene. It’s been incredible and truly so gratifying to help businesses grow in this space. I hope that as Boulder grows and changes, especially now with a lot of people moving into town from across the country – we can keep the ‘weirdness’ of Boulder and not lose what made Boulder ‘cool’ all those years ago!
