Meet Rob Felberg

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Felberg.

Rob, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have always had a passion for food. I started this food journey nearly five years ago when I realized how many new restaurants and different types of food I was trying and I wanted to share it with the world, in a semi-anonymous fashion, in order to let the food and experience speak for itself. I rarely post anything negative; if I don’t like the food or didn’t enjoy the experience, I simply do not post anything about it. The world needs more positivity and I attempt to provide that using positive food and restaurant experiences as the medium.

My mission is to share my life with others through the places I visit and the food I eat. You can tell a lot about a culture or an establishment by the food they serve, the quality of their service and the ambiance they’ve created. My goal is to one day live my dream, by traveling around the world to experience different cultures through their food and drink, and to continue to share that journey and to spread positivity with as many people that I can.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
At first, I was not really aiming to do anything more than document my own experiences. Once I realized that food blogging was a ‘thing,’ I enhanced my strategy and learned how to best leverage Instagram and it’s algorithm to reach a larger audience.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
My business is all food and it is a food Instagram that is somewhat anonymous. I am passionate about letting the food and restaurant experience speak for itself. This sets my food Instagram apart and differentiates it from others. Most others have a face to pair with the page and influence from a person one way or another, but not mine. It is only food and only posts about positive experiences I have had with food.

I work with many of the PR agencies around the country and also with most of the local restaurants to come in and experience what they have to offer. Usually, get 4-5 offers a week for food tastings or food/drink events to attend. My ultimate goal would be to continue to spread positivity to a much larger audience, thorough more communication channels, allowing my audience to experience new restaurants and other cultures through food.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. By being persistent and persevering for five years building my brand and following, I have put in the ‘preparation’ needed to bear the fruit of the opportunities that now come my way and that may come my way in the future.
