Jeff, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was first introduced to hemp-based CBD in 2016 as an alternative, natural way to help manage my stress, anxiety, and inflammation as a result of my very active lifestyle. After consistently using CBD, it so dramatically impacted my life that I was inspired to share the gift of hemp with others. Hemp extract positively changed the lives of others close to me, and I sought out a career opportunity in hemp. After connecting with a few local businesses involved in hemp, I found R+R Medicinals, which soon became my home for passionate work. At the time, I joined their small team and helped contribute to one of the fastest-growing names in hemp.

R+R Medicinals is in the business of delivering high-quality hemp extract to those who need it most, focused on responsible pricing and unparalleled service. In partnering with hemp farmers and extractors local to Colorado, we developed our business around doing what’s best for our customers and their pets. With every decision we make, we say, “how would our mothers feel about this,” which makes us truly think of our customers like family. Our localized supply chain and vertically integrated business model allows us to offer hemp supplements to people with responsible pricing in mind, which is highly contrary to the pricing many are familiar with when considering larger, more established brands in the CBD arena.

These changes often cause quick pivots to meet and exceed evolving standards, which can be challenging on top of our regular course of business.

We’re keen about being as future-forward as we can be regarding regulatory changes, and this helps ensure the longevity of our business direction. Our team does everything in house, from product development to distribution, so learning our business competencies has been somewhat of a sink or swim method.

Fortunately, we work with some brilliant people to help us out with these challenges. We’re fans of hiring experts to push the evolution of our business practices, all in the name of what makes things easier for our customers. With a team of seven and growing, we’ll continue to find the most talented individuals that align with our mission to serve. (Mostly answered in first Q) We’re in the business of producing high quality, hemp-derived supplements that allow people to better care for themselves. Our customers find that R+R Medicinals helps them do just that; rest and relax! Most testimonials point to how our products may help people, and their pets, with their management of stress, anxiety, inflammation, and quality of sleep.

We’re different than others when it comes to quality, as we source organically grown hemp local to Colorado, where we can put our feet on the ground and touch the plants, not from some random farm where who knows what is going on. We are serious about quality and safety, which is why we have third-party labs conducted on every batch of product. These tests ensure our potency and full-spectrum claims are met, along with a battery of safety testing for presence of heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, and microbes.

Beyond this, our products are self-manufactured, where we have a unique quality oversight, while most others in this industry contract out mass production of goods utilizing unknown people in an unknown place. Another big difference is in how we price our products. We’re often compared to similar products that competitors offer at two to three times our price, and we ask ourselves why they are charging so much? With their larger supply chains and agreements, honestly, it comes down to corporate greed, as they certainly enjoy lower supply chain costs. We’re proud to be priced for the people, and not a group of shareholders on a stock exchange.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
We love living and growing our business in Colorado. The majority of the team members are Colorado natives. It’s an incredibly hospitable place, especially for this industry. We get tons of natural sunlight and healthy soil for our farms, and some of the friendliest people in the nation to learn and grow with.
