Meet Ruben Javier of Faded Fresh Barbershop in Aurora

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ruben Javier.

Ruben, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I had just moved to Florida from Pennsylvania at the age of 13 when I began cutting my own hair. From then, I started cutting my neighbors and classmates because there were not any barbershops in our city at that time. Years later, I opened one of the first barbershops in that same city where I was able to also open the first barber and beauty school as well. After taking a roadtrip vacation across the country, I found Denver and needless to say I fell in love with everything there. Eventually, I found my way to expand my barbershop business to Colorado giving me a great reason to live here as well.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has been a journey with ups and downs but that’s part of everything in life in general. I learned to take life a moment at a time but always moving forward.

Faded Fresh Barbershop – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My barbershop in Colorado “Faded Fresh” has ten barbers who are all specialists in all types of haircuts, designs and styles. As far as myself, I can do all haircuts and designs that are requested by the customer, although I always keep an open mind to continue learning and perfecting my craft. I’m most proud for the unity we have in my shop, the way we take care of our customers as one whole team. We keep in mind that the customer comes first and we try to

I would have used all the knowledge I now carry to make things happen faster.
