Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Cox.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sam. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all began in May 2014, during a game night with friends we started rolling some dice, well, a lot of dice. We tried to see who could score the most. Things got exciting and we were yelling all kinds of things. Rules were slowly established. Eventually, bitches (a dice game) became a thing. While at a family gathering, we had to change some terminology to be able include the younger population. So now we had biscuits (a dice game) as well.
Everywhere we played, people loved the game and popularity grew. We played biscuits (a dice game) at school, kids love it. Friends wanted copies, then the idea of custom dice, custom bags, things got a bit carried away. And really expensive. I started a Kickstarter campaign to help get things off the ground. That way I could order larger quantities of everything and bring the overall cost down. Our Kickstarter campaign went better than we could imagine. Over 250 backers coast to coast in the US and more than ten other countries around the world.
Glue Bunny Games was started as the company representing both games. Last year during the holidays we introduced dice trays that can be added to the game. People love them. We attend brewery events, sip & shops, vendor events and recently have been hosting dice tournaments.
Some stats: Over 4800 games sold. Shipped to all 50 states and 13 countries. We create and produce fun dice games. We like to have fun and hope others do too.
Has it been a smooth road?
It’s been fairly smooth, the company and distribution was created out of necessity. I was never really planning on this becoming a business. But people wanted something I created, which is so cool. So the learning process in general has been huge. A little snag we have hit would be delayed from our suppliers, it just gets us a little behind.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Glue Bunny Games – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We create and produce bitches (a dice game) and biscuits (a dice game), and more recently dice rolling trays. I’m just excited that something I randomly created one night has created so much fun for people. I really love how in today’s technology age, it helps humans connect as humans. Rarely do you see people on their phones while playing dice.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
Denver is great. Awesome brewery and beer scene. Easy access to adventures in the mountains, both summer and winter. Denver is growing so quickly, so some things come with that mostly crowds and traffic, but that’s to be expected.
