Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It certainly has been very challenging keeping my head above the water with the music business/ family and personal life….. I/we have been working this music business for a long time. …..I am been and am so blessed and, fortunate to have the most amazing woman in my life that has been a cornerstone in keeping me centered/grounded as an artist.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about SELASEE and the Fafa Family – what should we know?
My line of business is live Reggae/Highlife/Pop/World music….its music for your dancing feet… its feel good live music for Summer Festival concerts, weddings…. concerts for larger venues and can also tone it down for smaller settings.
What sets me apart from other Reggae bands is that we have a larger story to tell plus Reggae music with the live and direct influences from the continent of Africa and more specifically West Africa as well as western influences woven together. In this sound of music … it’s about feeling the beat and moving with it.
Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
First it’s coming directly from my Father. He has been so supportive of my music career… family, Running Dream Records who first signed me….my one and only sister….my wife who is such a corner stone in my life across the board… and God who watches over us all.
