Meet Stephen McSpadden of Three Pointes Financial in Central Metro Denver

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephen McSpadden.

Stephen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Unfortunately, the vast majority of Americans who grow up in the middle class never receive adequate financial education. We go through 12, 14, 16 or more years of formal education but never are we taught about core life issues like how to be in a relationship, how to raise kids and how to handle money. I was one of those people I never received any financial education from my parents or our educational system I was clueless.

I did start saving some money in my 40’s. The only education I had at that time was there were only two choices for places to save and grow my money, banks and the stock market. Like most people, I believe that the stock market was the only viable choice I had to try and grow my money. Then, 2001 and the dot.com market crash hit! I like millions of other innocent investors lost over half of everything I had. I broker then convinced me that all I had to do was to stay in the market and ride it out. After all the market always rebounds! Yeah right, it took seven years to rebound. In early 2008 the market was just a smidgen above where it was seven years previous. Then 2008-2009! The market crash resulted in me losing over 50% of all my savings, retirement, other investments and I went through foreclosure. Unfortunately, I was not alone, Millions of wonderful hard-working people lost much more than I did. Millions of wonderful families and individuals lost everything they lost everything. They lost all their savings they lost homes, they lost all their retirement savings, 401(k), IRAs, etc.. They went through foreclosure, bankruptcies, divorces and health challenges. All of this happened through no fault of their own. All this happened because we had been given incomplete information and we lacked education.

Somewhere in 2009 all this really started to bother me. My feelings were (and still are) that they and I got financially raped. How could our government and the financial industry promote this programs and because of their own greed and incompetence lead us all into financial ruin and then suffer none of the consequences?

Since then I have given talks to service organizations and anybody else who will listen about the workings of the Federal Reserve Board, the World Bank System, the fractionalized banking system, and the free-wheeling securities industry.

Recently, I aligned myself with a wonderful organization called Five Rings Financial. Five Rings Financial is an educational organization whose primary dream is of sharing the basics and fundamentals of personal finance with Middle Americans and then helping them apply what they learned. “Our goal is to provide quality education to assist our clients in feeling empowered about making financial decisions and offer them recommendations that add value to their lives, families and businesses.” The company goal is now my goal.

As the wealth inequality between the ultra-rich and the middle continues to widen and accelerate this is education that is becoming increasing critical for the financial and physical health of ourselves and our loved ones.

My organization is titled Three Pointes Financial. The three points are what wealthy families have known for generations. The pointes are lifestyle protection tax deferred wealth accumulation and tax free distribution at retirement. These may sound too good to be true but wealthy individuals and families have been doing this for hundreds of years. This is information that everyone needs to know now more than ever and it is my great pleasure to share this information with the middle class and heretofore financially disenfranchised.

We provide free educational classes around the country. The classes are trying free there is no obligation. We don’t even require anyone to volunteer personal contact information and there is a free dinner. We show people how to grow tax deferred wealth on $5 per day. After growing that tidy nest egg we show people how to access that money tax-free. A special education we offer is to shows people how to access significant sums of money in the event they become ill this is called LIVING BENEFITS. It is now my privilege to show average people like me how to live and retire with Dignity and financial adequacy. For additional information contact me: Stephen K. McSpadden 720-849-9553.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road had not been smooth. As I noted in the previous section I lost most of my financial resources twice in my life. The road still is not smooth because of 2008 I lost most of my retirement and went into foreclosure. Because of that, I am one of those who being of retirement age, I am not able to retire. I was also lucky enough to survive a stroke but the cost was high. Each time I give a talk to a service organization part of the talk is about stroke awareness. Although I may not be able to retire as soon as I would like I take great joy and pride in educating the average middle class American in subjects that may help them avoid the setbacks I have experienced.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up I was a typical middle-class kid. I was blessed to grow up in rural areas where we had a lot of freedoms. The rural areas I grew up in were beautiful. I was blessed with an inquisitive mind. I enjoy being an artist as well as being technically inclined. I enjoyed art as well as rebuilding old Volkswagens. As of today I still enjoy the fine arts as well as technology.
