Meet Stephenie Griggs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephenie Griggs.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, Stephenie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Perhaps it was destiny that I was born into the Fitt family. I have this drive to share my love of fitness, health, nutrition, and lifelong learning and am fortunate enough to live my life with my name-bearing my passion.

I am a busy mom of three who loves the rush and stress relief that exercise provides, and I’m committed to fueling my body with the cleanest, healthiest foods possible. I teach high school physical education, indoor cycling classes, am an avid yogi, and above all, a health and fitness advocate. Health, wellness, and fitness are who I am almost every waking hour. I understand that there is no “one right answer” –Health is such an individual thing– So I sort through all of the confusing information out there about health, fitness, and nutrition and help people find the strategies that work for them.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My world came crashing down with my breast cancer diagnosis in March 2014. I’m going to be okay. I’m sure of it. But I am not the same person I was pre-diagnosis. After a double mastectomy and reconstruction, and the many life changes I’ve made since then, I have such a different perspective on health, nutrition, and fitness. I’ve thrown myself into reading and studying about holistic ways to heal the body from the inside out, including working on a master’s degree in Holistic Nutrition. I want to share what I’m learning with anyone who will hear me.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
My business is evolving. I have a free newsletter that keeps my subscribers abreast of all I’m learning in my graduate studies. I cover topics from vitamins to sleep to addressing the latest trends in nutrition and fitness.

I’m proud of my online course, called “Fittbodies Ultimate Health Workshop.” It offers over 50 video lessons and downloads covering four modules related to health, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle. We get real about making the most of each moment, bite, activity, and movement. People can access the program from the comfort of their own homes at a pace that works best for them. Forms, handouts, and charts are available to support learning, and I am available to answer questions along the way.

Modules include:

*Alkalize – We focus on eating more plants, hydrating, drinking a fun little concoction every morning, and take to your cupboards and fridge for a total revamp.
*Boost Immunity – We talk sleep, decreasing toxins in your beauty and household products, the benefits of fasting, heat & cold therapy.
*Decrease Stress – It’s all about getting good sleep, meditation, saying “no,” managing stress, and de-cluttering your spaces (and your calendar).
*Move Your Body – Whether you already have an established workout routine or are looking to begin, you’re gonna find something here that is just for you.

I also partner one-on-one with clients who are ready to make real changes to their lifestyle and health. Even the most disciplined of us need support, and I strive to be the coach I’ve always wished I had. My work here focuses on those who have a strong fitness foundation who need help to get back on track. I’m not a performance coach or trainer. Rather, I help people refocus on what has worked for them in the past, what’s happening presently, and helping them open their minds to a future where they recognize, thrive, and love the body they live in.

Pantry Raids are a service I offer on a limited basis. I come to your home and together, we raid your pantry, cupboards, fruit bowls, and ‘fridge. Anywhere you have food, we’ll do an inventory. From reading labels to food prep tips, I teach you how to make the healthiest choices for you and your family’s personal needs. We then come up with a shopping list that is chock-full of a whole, clean, optimal choices, and I can even accompany clients to the grocery store to show the best options, if necessary. I’m proud to offer this completely customized, one-on-one service to Denver-metro-area residents. (If you’re not local, or too far outside my travel boundaries, you can get much of this information in my Optimal Health Workshop.)

I have a YouTube channel @fittbodies and my social media accounts on Instagram @stepheniefittbodies and Facebook @fittbodies help me reach a broader audience with tips about lifestyle, health, wellness, and body love.

Finally, I’m working on an eBook, “The Hormone-Disruptor Detox: Boost Energy, Decrease Inflammation, & Balance Your Hormones.” Available soon… stay tuned…

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I’ve always had this insatiable desire for learning, which I got from my dad, affectionately called “Doc,” as he was a professor at a local university. I remember accompanying him to classes when I was very young. I would sit at a desk at the front of the room while he lectured. With my crayons and paper I would draw and listen to his words and observe his students. Although I didn’t understand all he was teaching, I remember recognizing the power that new knowledge brought to those young people and ever since then, I’ve jumped at every opportunity to pursue learning. These experiences instilled in me the value of education, both formal and self-taught, and the pure, simple joy that information can bring.

Hi Stephanie. Just landed on your website etc while searching info on the leaps and rebounds rebounder. And now can’t wait to make banana tea and tape my mouth shut!! Looking forward to checking out all the other videos. My question is…I’m having a bit of a dilemma, and not sure which size to purchase on the rebounder, 40’ or 48’. I’m 61, 5’4” and weigh 118. I’d like to be able to store it easily, but don’t want to limit myself to just jumping up and down. What size is yours? Thanks! Looking forward to learning more from you!!
