Meet Suzanne Simone

Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzanne Simone.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Suzanne. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My company’s name is Poshtography, a Professional Photography and Videography Company since 2003!

Growing up, it was my Mom who was the Professional Photographer as I was deeply involved in the Performing Arts: Singing, Dancing, Acting, and Modeling. While I always had a natural affinity for Photography, it wasn’t until Highschool when I really started exploring my own passion for the Art, and I never turned back! Having graduated College with a B.A. in Communications, what better way to communicate than through both Photography and Videography?!

Poshtography has been a phenomenal journey in all aspects of the Art, and I originally began this Company alongside my talented Mom! Fast forward to 2019 and while I am the Lead Photographer these days, I’m working alongside both my talented mom, Marlene as well as my talented Fiance, Gary Rickard!

When asked what style of Photography and Videography we shoot, ultimately, we use the same expression of skill for every style and genre that comes our way (Promotions, Marketing, Branding, Product Shoots, Design Portfolios, etc.)! Our primary focus is on high-end Weddings, Boudoir, and Portraiture as well as Fashion Photography and Headshots! That may sound like a lot, but it’s actually an eloquent mix of artistry, photojournalism, experience, and skill!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
When you run a business there’s always challenges that you can face, but I can confidently say that we’ve not ever experienced anything that has prohibited us from obtaining our goals and providing superior experiences and products to our amazing clients!

Poshtography – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
While Poshtography accepts various types of work, our main emphasis is in high-end Weddings, Boudoir, Portraiture, Fashion, and Headshots!

One thing that sets us apart besides our demeanor and approach is our vast experiences in the Arts Industry! For example, to this day I am still a Professional Singer, Dancer, Actress, and Petite Model. My mom has over 40 years of experience as a Photographer and Videographer, and my fiance, Gary, our Lead Videographer, is one of Denver’s Top Male Models! With all of our experiences combined, knowing both ends of the lens definitely makes us stronger, especially when we are working with our Couples, Portraiture, and newer Models! Posing usually requires making what feels awkward in positioning to look beautiful and natural, and this knowledge and guidance alone really helps our clients to develop their best work!

Another aspect which sets us apart is engaging in the Art of shooting all body types, shapes, heights, and sizes. The greatest compliment that we have consistently received throughout the years is how beautiful our subjects feel when they didn’t think that they were photogenic before working with Posh. I would say that this is something that I love about our job, because not only are we providing a product or content that is valued, but we’re opening up the gates for everyone to love themselves through our eyes! I have always believed that beauty is everywhere, and this is another prime focus when we shoot, to capture that inner light!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Personally, I define success as not only a specific blend of hard work and dedication but knowing that you have personally given the innermost pieces of yourself towards the final outcome and with this sense of knowing, you’re continuously rewarded!

With our Photographic works, I’m old school in the way that I still hand edit each individual image with both Photoshop and Lightroom as opposed to batch editing as to provide eye-catching imagery that is accented and complimented by the elements which the programs offer. Technology keeps becoming greater and greater which allows Artists especially to immerse themselves in the limitless potentials available!
