Today we’d like to introduce you to Tara Becker.
Tara, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I always had a passion to empower women. So, I created Elle Group, a networking organization consisting of ladies with all backgrounds, walks of life and ages for the purpose of supporting the needs, wants and desires, professionally and personally of one another.
That community was a dream of mine and was cultivating its growth in size and its ability to provide women with the resources and support whatever their issues or challenges, as well as, giving praise and applause for a job well done. As it is essential to be recognized for our achievements and triumphs, more importantly, we all need to be acknowledged for our attempts and efforts.
However, my dream came to an abrupt halt when my husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. The tumultuous time after the unexpected loss of my husband was filled with waves of feelings, emotions, and realizations that came as a result of me taking inventory of my life.
I then began the conscious steps to get my life back on track to what I always imagined my life to look like. As a result, without realizing it, I created a road map of powerful secrets so anyone could develop the life of their dreams.
What’s interesting is that individuals would tell me when I was growing Elle Group that I should write a book. I felt at that time, I had nothing to share. It wasn’t until my husband died and how I came through it that I felt I had any wisdom to bring to the world.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No. Writing a book is one of the biggest challenges I have undertaken willingly. I can see why Hemingway drank. Please don’t misunderstand, I am not comparing myself to Hemingway. Only writing a book is one of the hardest tasks I have ever completed.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
My book “The Journey from Fear to Freedom: A Woman’s Guide to Rediscovering the Life She Always Imagined” is a culmination of the very steps I took to get my life back on track. It was quite a journey! I include worksheets at the end of every chapter so the reader may start their own. The book is also packed-full of other resources and links to several teachers and their works that personally helped for me.
What were you like growing up?
I was full of life and creating constantly. Whether it was planning a surprise party for a girlfriend that needed a little “pick-me-up” to producing, directing, and starring in a garage play complete with a concession stand. I was always creating events for friends and the neighborhood community.
I was compelled to go against the establishment if a rule or the like didn’t make sense and was causing harm to people. I would always stand up for a friend in need even if it meant to go up against a school teacher to make my plea. I continue to be an advocate for others.
We all deserve everything we’ve ever wanted!
