Meet Taylor Strope of Mountainside Events in Fort Collins

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Strope.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Taylor. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Mountainside Events almost four years ago after a few good friends encouraged me to take a leap of faith and start my own business. After planning numerous events at a local venue in town, The Mishawaka Amphitheater, starting my company allowed me to plan weddings and events all over the state of Colorado. Every year I continued to grow and take on more weddings and events and as of last year, I was able to take on the business full time! I am blessed to have the opportunity to make such an impact for my clients and be a part of their special day.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think there isn’t such a thing as a “smooth road”. You see a path that you need to take but there ends up being so many turns and hoops to jump through before you get there. Every day is a day to learn and I find that if I am true to myself I will get there. I have been told that I wouldn’t be good enough and that I was a failure and that fueled my fire to become the best person I can be, not only for myself but for all my amazing clients too!

Mountainside Events – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
As an event planner, I handle everything from day-of-event coordination to partial and full-service event planning. As a native to Colorado, I know the area so well and I think that has helped set me apart for other event planning companies. I also tend to attract clients that are “like-minded” to me and want to embrace the Colorado culture when it comes to planning a wedding or event. Let’s say my area of expertise is nature and outdoor events! I am also know for being very personable and relaxed when it comes to planning an event. I think that my personality gives my clients a sense of relief that everything is taken care of on their big day.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I think success is defined by happiness! I am truly blessed to be able to do what I do and I have fun doing it! I love my job and I love to see the smiles on my client’s face when they get to enjoy their day. To me, being a part of that moment is everything I need to know to have a successful event.
