Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Riley and Brendan Bondurant.
After listening to the duo work of Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass, Brendan was inspired to look for a singer to partner with, and Stacey was looking for a business-minded accompanist. Thanks to the help of a mutual friend, Brendan and Stacey found exactly what they were looking for… and the rest is history!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Besides the typical curve balls life tends to throw, it’s been pretty much smooth sailing in this musical partnership.
Please tell us about your work. What do you guys do? What do you specialize in? What sets you apart from competition?
We are a guitar/vocal duo that is rooted in traditional jazz, but since our inception, we have also discovered a natural affinity toward bossa nova and French music. These variations have made our musical selection not only more interesting for the listener but also more fulfilling to perform.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Perhaps it doesn’t come down to any particular moment, but being asked to return time and again for annual events at the request of our clients’ attendees is a pretty special feeling.
