Meet Tiffany Creech of Raw Fitness Denver in South Metro

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Creech.

Tiffany, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My name is Tiffany and I am an Owner and the Operator of Raw Fitness Denver. I started my journey with Raw Fitness in Las Vegas in September 2017 by taking their 6 week 20 pound challenge. This challenge was not easy in any way. I had to teach myself new habits and learn some major self control. Even though this was a struggle, I stuck with it and achieved my goal and lost 20 pounds in 42 days! I fell in love with the support I received, the new nutrition habits I created and the workouts. I decided to invest in myself and signed up for a 12 month membership. Little did I know at the time this was going to be one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. Over the next year, I continued to follow the plans and guidance I was receiving and I dropped another 40 pounds. Making my total weight loss a little over 60 pounds in one year. I can not fully express the love I had for the community of Raw Fitness. So much so, that I decided to apply for a part-time Admin position at nights with the Company. My passion for helping people led me in this direction. At the time, I was a full-time hairstylist of 14 years, a mom of two boys and a wife.

Shortly after my employment with Raw Fitness began, I found out that the company was franchising. I felt this was fate. I jumped on the opportunity and started the franchise process. My husband and I made a quick decision to sell our first home in Las Vegas and move our family to Denver, Colorado. In 2 months, we had sold our home in Las Vegas and relocated our family to Denver Colorado to begin the journey of opening a Raw Fitness Franchise. Little did we know this was way harder than we realized. I looked at hundreds of locations online and in person. I thought renting a retail space was like renting a house. Boy was I wrong. The companies that manage retail properties want you to have more than I was able to offer financially. Banks and the SBA did not want to loan us the money because we did not own a home and did not have much else for collateral. We were told no over and over again. My husband and I had to make the extremely tough decision to back out of opening a franchise.

We decided to use the money we had saved to open the gym and put towards the purchase of a home. The same month we found our home in Elizabeth, Colorado, I was contacted by the franchisor. He told me there was a couple who lived in Colorado and they were interested in franchising with Raw Fitness. They were beginning the franchise process in Austin, Texas with her niece who had a similar experience with Raw Fitness as I did. We met and immediately knew we would make a great team. These incredible people (Dan and Lori Roy), brought my dreams back to a reality. I have so much gratitude for them. We quickly signed an agreement to open 7 Raw Fitness locations in the Denver area over the next 5 years.

We are now the proud owners of the first and second Raw Fitness franchise’s!! Our first location in Englewood opened October 28th, 2019 and our second location was open December 18th, 2019. Needless to say, 2019 was an interesting and busy year for me and my family. We purchased our dream home and opened our two gyms in 6 months time.

We were finally getting our name out in the Colorado community and starting to see an increase in memberships and the Raw FItness Family was growing. Unfortunately, shortly after we opened our gyms we were forced to shut down due to COVID-19. Our doors were closed for 2 months. We pivoted our members into online and virtual workouts. Trying our hardest to keep our staff and members happy, healthy and supported. May 18th 2020 we re-opened with very strict guidelines. We are still unable to have a full capacity of members in the gym at one time. We are currently fighting our way through these unknown times.

I am here to help people change their lives through fitness and nutrition the way mine was changed. It’s more than the weight I lost, I gained a new life. I am able to take care of my children the way I want to. I gained a confidence I didn’t know existed. I also found my passion for this industry. The staff we are fortunate enough to have is a testament of how truly amazing this family is. They work every day to better other people’s lives. We are so blessed to have the staff that we do. Each one of them brings a different form of motivation and love to our fitness community. Raw Fitness is more than just a gym. It is a family!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
No, this experience has not been easy by any means. There were (and still are) days that giving up crosses my mind. I am a true believer that you get what you put out so I do my best to stop those thoughts from taking up too much time in my head. Everytime we heard a “No”, every time construction got pushed back, things didn’t go as planned or when I hear people say it’s the worst time to be a gym owner, I remind myself of my “Why”. Why I am doing this, why this means so much to me and my family.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Raw Fitness Denver story. Tell us more about the business.
I am often asked, “What makes Raw different from other gyms?” Our mission statement answers this best:

Our mission is to educate and empower individuals to make long-lasting positive lifestyle changes to become the best versions of themselves through fitness, nutrition, community and commitment.

More than just a gym, Raw Fitness is a lifestyle created through our culture of community. We are the perfect place for people seeking guidance and education in fitness and health in an environment that treats you as family. We teach people a healthy and productive way of living. I truly believe we will emerge from these trying times as an even stronger community. Raw Fitness will overcome the obstacles that have been placed in our way and we will be here to continue to help people change their lives.

Also, our staff is incredible. We are not just co-workers, we are a team and we are a Family. Our staff puts their hearts into this gym as much as us as owners do. They are a special group of individuals and I’m so proud to have them on this journey with me.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I don’t know about luck. I like to call it blessings and divine intervention! If it were not for meeting Dan and Lori, we would not have opened these two amazing locations. The funny thing is that we lived down the street from each other in Las Vegas for years and have never met. We have a connection to Las Vegas and to Colorado and it’s crazy to think how many times our paths have crossed over our lifetimes, but we had never known each other. I also believe in the hard work we have all put into this gym. Our blood, sweat, and many many tears. Our hard work, sleepless nights, sore bodies (from hours upon hours of putting equipment together and cleaning for grand openings), the countless amount of hours we have spent on marketing, meetings, and brainstorming new ideas to bring in members. These things are all reasons why we are and always will be Raw Fitness Strong!
