Meet Tori Taggart of Rooted Health & Wellness in Castle Rock

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Taggart.

Tori, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
For years I struggled with various health conditions, going from doctor to doctor, never finding relief. I found myself frustrated and sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I didn’t want to take another medication to address the symptoms I was having, dealing with side effects and never fully understanding why I didn’t feel well. I eventually took matters into my own hands and began to change my lifestyle and diet. I started to realize that what I put into my body mattered in every way. I became interested in uncovering the root causes of my symptoms and began to address my healing from the inside out. In time, I decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Integrative Health and Holistic nutrition in order to use both my personal experience and education to help others that were suffering to find health and wellness.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening Rooted Health & Wellness, LLC has been an amazing experience. With a lot of hard work and personal struggle, I feel that I offer a unique perspective to clients that come into my office who are hurting, defeated, and sometimes hopeless. Together we come up with the best plan to address each person on an individualized basis.

Rooted Health & Wellness – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Rooted Health & Wellness, LLC uses a scientific, evidence-based approach that considers the uniqueness of each person’s biochemical individuality, in conjunction with genetic, environmental, lifestyle, mental, emotional, spiritual and relationship factors that impact the state of health. Utilizing expertise in physiology, biochemistry, and advanced laboratory assessment, we work to personalize a path to wellness through the use of food, exercise, mind-body techniques, supplements, herbs, sleep, and stress management. Integrative and Functional nutrition empowers people to create a partnership with their practitioner in which each person’s individual needs are explored to allow healing to occur at the root of dysfunction. I work with various conditions including autoimmunity, GI dysfunction, ADHD, adrenal and thyroid issues, hormonal imbalances, to name a few.

Some ways in which I help:

* Dietary analysis and macronutrient balance.

* Uncovering food sensitivities.

* Laboratory analysis and some functional testing (Micronutrients, Organic Acids, Adrenal, Food sensitivities.)

* Mindfulness techniques.

* Supplement and herbal recommendations.

* Lifestyle recommendations such as sleep, stress management, and exercise.

* Specialty diets (Anti-inflammatory, low FODMAP, gluten-free, Paleo, SCD, vegan, etc.)

* Pantry makeovers.

* Recipe sharing and meal planning ideas.

* Community education on nutrition topics.
