Meet Trailblazer Brittany Hagood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Hagood.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Brittany. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I graduated from the College of International Esthetics in November 2019. After mercilessly searching for job upon graduation and even after, no one was willing to give a freshly graduated student a chance! So I actually got offered a spot to run my own business out of by a girl on a Facebook group called Colorado Bestheticians! Amber has also significantly helped me get where I am! Through hard work, self-promoting and determination I am now off to a great start with my very own business!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Starting a business is NEVER easy. You always have friends that want to support but can’t afford to, you face clients who are unsure of you for being brand new to an industry. A lot of struggles are actually getting people in the door, but once that happens…it’ll never stop! Advice I would give to young women just starting their journey are to keep pushing through! I shed a lot of tears and suffered a lot of stress migraines to get where I’m at and I am so grateful that I never gave up and threw in the towel when it got hard!

We’d love to hear more about Skin Potion Esthetics.
I’m an esthetician, meaning I specialize in skincare and beauty! I am most proud of the fact that I am extremely fluent in providing customized facials to provide the best skincare to my clients. I also specialize in lash and brow services, and am still fine tuning my craft, but getting better every day! I just did one of my best eyelash extension sets yet last week! I think what sets me apart from others is my knowledge in chemistry, which allows me to truly know what ingredients make up the products I use on my client’s skin, and what will and will not work for them.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My friend Caitlyn Wright has been my biggest inspiration! She guided me through enrolling in school, attending school, advanced classes, and coached me on financial aspects of starting a business! She has been an amazing guideline for the kind of business owner I want to be!
