Meet Trailblazer Cassie Lopez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cassie Lopez.

Cassie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My dad owned a restaurant so I’ve been working in the service industry since I was sixteen. I was searching for a way to make private events fun and unique when I decided I wanted to start a mobile bartending business. I never grew out of the horse-crazy phase so a horse trailer bar seemed like the obvious choice! I saw an ad for our little truckster bar which was actually used to feed horses in a past life and I just fell in love with it. We fixed up the truckster bar and finished the horse trailer bar summer of 2019 and are so excited to make each private event stand out!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The tough days have been when I get overwhelmed and impatient. I have such a clear vision of where I want to be that I forget how far we’ve come. I get myself through this by looking at how much progress we’ve made on social media, with our website, and all the little behind the scenes details. I have been blown away by the support of other women in the mobile bar business and other local vendors. My advice would be to stay grounded in the present and to find a strong support system.

We’d love to hear more about The Wandering Wagon.
We are a mobile bartending company serving central Colorado. We have a horse trailer bar and a truckster bar. Both of our bars are full-service bars complete with two taps. Our bars are so adorable and make the best backdrop at any private event. I love when clients style our bars to fit their unique vision. These bars are truly the life of the party!

We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
Most of my experience so far has been in the wedding industry which women are honestly rocking! I have felt that the barriers I have experienced have been not just from being a woman but also from being young. Be prepared to let everyone in your industry know why choosing your business is the best choice. Talk to people and find out where there is a need and figure out how your business can be the best business to fill that need.
