Meet Trailblazer Gina Brascetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Brascetta.

Gina, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
About a year and a half ago, I was in a rut. I’m a stay at home mom of now three, but when my second son was about 18 months old, I hit my low. I wasn’t happy with me. I was tired all the time, irritable, would snap at the kids if our day didn’t go perfectly.. you know, all the things that come from being an overly exhausted parent with no sense of self anymore. I was still holding onto some “baby weight” that I would make every excuse in the book not to do something about because I felt lost and incapable of doing anything other than parenting. I came across an opportunity to earn an income by helping others live a healthier life, with the caveat that I do so as well. So I figured I had to try; nothing else was bringing me out of that funk. I made a commitment to working on me for three straight weeks- every day. Sticking to nutrition and following a fitness plan from home. And the most important part was to commit to working on personal development, which is exactly what I needed the most in that moment. I dove in with both feet because I knew I was the only one that could ditch the excuses and make that change for myself. And the results, well, they changed my life.

Following that three weeks, I had the energy I was missing and I found a new passion in taking 30 minutes each day for myself. Just those 30 minutes made me a better mom, a better spouse, a better person. So when I saw first hand how important that piece was in life of a busy adult, I had to share it with the world! I started hosting groups where other men and women could join me and work on their health side by side, but on their time and without the crazy price tag of gym memberships and personal trainers. It was GOLD! I got paid to just support people because through my experience, that’s what we’re missing the most when it comes to making big changes.

Now, I have a team of coaches with me. We change lives by taking care of ourselves day in and day out. We are of the most elite in the company complete with beach vacays and monthly rewards. I could pinch myself when I think that I get to live this life.. be home with my kids every day where they see the choices I make. They workout with me more often than not! I get to continue to make wellness a top priority in our family while building my empire and helping other men and women do the exact same.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think this road is ever smooth haha. It’s tough to want to put ourselves in the forefront sometimes. And especially when we see a long list of “to-do’s” that we could (or feel like we should) be tackling instead. It’s easy to doubt yourself and if what you’re doing even makes a difference. But it does. Because you are following YOUR dream and YOUR passion and YOU are equally as important as everything else on that list if not more! Finding balance can be tough, but once you make a commitment to being there for you, you learn how to fit everything else in. It’s going to take time and practice, but consistency over everything is what will make things last. Don’t give up if you’re not where you want to be after a month. Keep at it, and keep your goals on the forefront. So many people quit going after what they want because it’s hard; but if it was easy, we’d never have anything to work for.

Another piece of advice I’d add; go public. Voice your goals for the world to hear. It’s terrifying, but there is another level of accountability in putting yourself out there and admitting what you want to do. Some people won’t get it, some people won’t care, but others will watch. And for those who are watching, you will keep showing up for along with yourself. They will be waiting on your progress as much as you are, so it lights a fire and keeps it burning when the times get tough.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Forever Fitish – what should we know?
I will be the first to say, I am no personal trainer or fitness expert. I am just a mom that has learned to love herself and take her mental and physical health seriously because I know the importance of that for my family. I have three wild and crazy boys (5, 3, and 6 months).. they are active beyond the definition of the word! What I do before anything else is show people that it’s possible. It’s possible to live in utter chaos; have dishes overflowing the sink while the baby needs to eat and the big boys are putting holes in the wall and still find time to take care of you if you see your worth. Anyone who knows me (in person or via social media), know first hand that my life is a mess when it comes to ‘having your stuff together’ haha. Every day is an adventure which if you are a parent, you understand. So if I can make it happen, ANYONE can!! I’m not perfect by any means; I have found my balance. But I sure as heck try to remember that I am better for everything else when I feel my best.

So my business is just that. It is my greatest goal to make others remember that they are important too. And that it doesn’t have to be perfect, but any effort is better than none. I have an ongoing wellness group made up of other individuals working towards their goals. We share the ups and downs, victories and questions and just support the heck out of one another along the way. Because we all have goals and though our lives may look different, we’re not alone. Along with that, I host different bootcamps where we all follow the same program together and hold one another accountable. And finally, I get to mentor other coaches who want to do the exact same. I teach them how I’ve built my business, things that work or may not work for my challengers, and how to build their legacy. With my team, we are changing lives with good old fashion fitness and nutrition and setting an example first hand for anyone that crosses our paths.

Finding a mentor and building a network are often cited in studies as a major factor impacting one’s success. Do you have any advice or lessons to share regarding finding a mentor or networking in general?
I am all about attracting like-minded individuals. Whether you’re looking to expand your customer base or looking to expand your network, you have to think of you who are. What do you have to offer and to who? The people that “get me” the most are the ones who feel like they can relate to what I’m sharing. Be real, be raw, and be yourself. That’s the thing you’re best at. Find a mentor who has been through a similar process as you and don’t be afraid to ask questions. But at the same time, know you’re the one who is going to have to do the work and the research to advance in your business. Networking is tough at times because you want people to just come find you. But you have to spend the time and energy, especially in the beginning, to find those that fit your target and who can benefit most from what you’re offering. And then connect with them. Get to know them on more than just a surface level. People are getting pitched all the time from businesses but the ones they want to support are the ones they feel connected to. So give them a reason to want to support and trust in you.
