Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathleen Noble.
Kathleen, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Being of service has always been an important part of who I am. Both of my parents were teachers, and in my extended family are a myriad of public servants. My undergraduate degree from Montclair State University in NJ focused on Consumer Affairs. My hero back then was Ralph Nader, a great political activist and proponent of consumer and environmental protection and government reform. I felt drawn to sticking up for the “little guy.”
After a year of mind-opening travel that helped create a whole lot of perspective on life, I began working in a rehabilitation center in NJ for children with disabilities, some of the most underserved and in need population I could imagine. I loved it! It was my introduction to finding my own passion for serving others.
Fast forward to a move with my husband (a teacher, no surprise there!) to beautiful Fort Collins in the early ’90s. I got my start working on grants through the Occupational Therapy department at Colorado State University for individuals who experienced traumatic brain injury(TBI). Since then, with three children raised and grown, I continued in different capacities working with people with disabilities. The big shift towards what I am doing now with Happy Whole You came during the summer of 2018 when I began a personal journey of self-discovery.
That summer, I was introduced to some powerful, crazy and amazing ideas. I learned about Biohacking. Author Dave Asprey calls biohacking “The art and science of changing the environment around you and inside you so you have more control over your own biology.” The more I learned, the more excited I got. The idea became clear to me that more often than not, many of us hand over our wellness to forces outside ourselves rather than taking responsibility and taking a long, hard look at the role we play and empowering ourselves to take charge. Of course, we need our doctors and health specialists, but the idea that we have the power to step up and make big changes ourselves was HUGE to me. Biohackers are the new ‘pioneers of wellness!’ Every day I learn more about how to think beyond the classical understanding of wellness. It’s about tapping into your potential and being your best, healthiest and highest functioning self, both mentally and physically.
I partnered with my best friend and supreme lifelong biohacker, Kelly Wathne, to join the ‘Evolution Revolution” and bring the cutting edge, alternative wellness technologies of Happy Whole You to Fort Collins. Happy Whole You is all about empowering individuals to support their own mental and physical health- the key to feeling great and living our best lives. For me, it has been and continues to be a transformative personal journey. I continue to learn and grow alongside those who share their search for balance, wholeness and peace while appreciating the miracle of this human body and existence.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
While I have worked in the healthcare and wellness industry for almost 30 years, owning and running a small business continues to be a huge learning curve for me. I was not prepared for just how difficult it could be. Some weeks I was sure we would not make it. Time and again I had to remind myself why I was here… to help people help themselves; to hold space for them, educate and serve. When I keep my focus on this and not try to micromanage every little thing, I find that I am able to keep my equilibrium. My advice to others would be to stay focused on your WHY. Why are you doing this? Who are you serving? Then do it with every fiber of your being. Believe in your own success, see what it looks like in your mind’s eye and it will manifest. That sounds easy, but it isn’t always!
For me, constantly working on myself (spiritually, mentally and physically) and not being afraid to share my struggles and successes with others is a big piece. So often, we isolate ourselves and have an unrealistic idea of the way things are supposed to be. Finding and creating community is so important. We don’t all live on our own islands. Somebody out there already knows how to do pieces of what you’re trying to do- we don’t have to reinvent the wheel on many things. The most important part to hone is YOUR gift; that thing that makes you shine. It will draw people to you!
We’d love to hear more about Happy Whole You.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
