Today we’d like to introduce you to Laura Rodriguez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Laura. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am a Denver native and have called the Highlands Neighborhood (the North Side) home all my life. After graduating from Denver North High School, I studied Human Development at Metropolitan State University and quickly moved on to positions in fast-paced environments, assuring client satisfaction through exemplary customer service, something I treasure to this day. I was never fully satisfied with the jobs I had, they were redundant and became boring super fast. I wanted to do something else, something bigger within my community. After encouragement from loved ones, I pursued a Real Estate Career. I did not know anybody in the industry or much about this industry, I was a bit nervous jumping into something new. I am so glad I did.
I signed up for the course, started studying, started talking to individuals in the business. Trying to find my place in this career.
Passionate about helping people, it was a natural fit and I excelled in my first year. I am bilingual, fluent in both English and Spanish, and a big part of my Real Estate Career is educating and assisting the Latino community with their real estate needs. 3.5 years later, and many more families and individuals I have helped, I know real estate is my passion and I pride myself in helping the Latino community achieve the American Dream.
Real Estate has allowed me to achieve many goals, many dreams! I have met some amazing individuals, I have learned so much and continue to do so. I am extremely grateful for the support I get from all my clients, friends, and loved ones, I would not be where I am without all of you.
Has it been a smooth road?
It was definitely scary in the beginning. I was working a full-time job while I was studying to get licensed in Real Estate. I was able to get licensed in only six weeks which I am extremely proud of.
My work schedule was from 5 AM-2:30 PM, I would wake up at 3:30 every morning, go to work full time, come home and study for 3 hours. It was draining, and I def had a lot of sleepless nights doubting if all this work would be worth it, would I be a good agent?
Even when I got my license I still remained at my full-time job for six months! Even though I was closing deals. I didn’t want to leave the security my job provided.
The only advice I can give and what I give all of my friends is to believe in yourself and understand what your WHY is. WHY are you doing this?
A big part of my WHY was freedom so I can do what I love, travel, and spend time with my loved ones.
I have been able to explore many places around the world and continue to add new countries to my list.
If you have a clear understanding of your why, it will give you the motivation you need. All you have to do is start.
Stop doubting yourself and go out and simply just do it.
We’d love to hear more about Signature Real Estate.
I am a Real Estate agent. I help families and individuals sell or buy a home. I am especially knowledgeable in market information, negotiation, property evaluation, and real estate laws, giving my clients an advantage in real estate transactions every step of the way.
I am bilingual so a big part of my business is working with the Hispanic community.
I pride myself on offering attentiveness, knowledge, and accessibility.
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on female leadership – in particular, what do you feel are the biggest barriers or obstacles?
Work-life balance, I believe women are still on the hook for more than men around the house. From keeping a household together, planning, taking care of kids…
(I don’t have any kids) but I do see some of my close friends struggle with this.
Real estate investing is dominated by men. I would love to see more women take higher positions.
