Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Dienstbach.
A Colorado native, Lindsey realized a life-long dream with the launch of Bello & Blue Events in December 2013. With a fresh take on events, over a decade of industry experience, and an undying love for throwing memorable celebrations, she quickly grew Bello & Blue into the well-recognized, award-winning company it is today. Lindsey is known for seamlessly executing affairs, and her attention to detail, while always being mindful of the big picture.
Lindsey is a certified planner and holds a degree in Communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She currently sits on the board of WIPA (Wedding Industry Professionals Association) as Vice President for the Colorado chapter and is an accredited agent for IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network). Having produced over 500 occasions and celebrations throughout her career, Lindsey has worked with award-winning venues and catering & event planning companies throughout Colorado, California, Mexico and beyond.
While she loves all types of parties, she is wedding-obsessed and is known to shed tears during first looks, vows, and father/daughter dances. Lindsey is known for her enthusiasm through planning and calming energy on a wedding day. She’s never afraid to roll up her sleeves, and loves every minute of designing and producing events and happily ever after!
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When I first started, I knew a lot about producing events, but I didn’t know a lot (let’s be honest, anything!) about running a business. I invested a lot of time and money in research, business coaches, industry-specific networking events, educational summits, and read as much as I could to learn. Every piece has been helpful, but nothing is more powerful to gain education than real day-to-day experience. My advice for women just beginning their journey is to work hard, and keep going! Even when you’re tired, even if you’ve failed, even when you have no idea if you are doing it right, just keep going! I have put tremendous effort into my business since day one, and it is finally starting to pay off six years later! It doesn’t happen overnight, but it does all add up after all, and it does get easier.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Bello & Blue Events – what should we know?
We provide Wedding & Event Planning Services and full Floral Design. When we first opened we began as a planning company, but the flowers was the perfect addition three years ago. Operating as a business that provides two key components in the Wedding and Events space is unique and something we love! It’s fun for us to pull double duty, and being that flowers are such an integral part of the design, it made sense for us to combine into our offerings since we are a group of hands-on designers and love to create for our clients!
What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The hospitality/wedding industry is largely run by women. Especially in this space, there is tremendous opportunity to shine as a female! Because our job regularly calls for creativity, empathy, and personality compatibility, I think being a female allows us to best relate to brides and families and it plays to our innate strengths. I am so inspired by the many fabulous female entrepreneurs in the design/party/wedding industry- there are so many women doing their thing and thriving in these leadership roles!
