Meet Trailblazer Lynn Fam

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynn Fam.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Lynn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My life currently wasn’t easy getting to where I’m at now. I’ve been through a lot of challenges growing up and it still doesn’t end. Without challenges and obstacles, I wouldn’t have the knowledge I do today. I was a teen mom struggling day by day trying to figure out life and taking care of a family. Went to beauty school to get my manicurist license at 16 to help out the family business in the salon. I’m so thankful for my family for getting into the beauty industry. Without my parents, I wouldn’t even know how I’ll make it taking care of my own family as a teen. By the time I was 21 years old, I was a mother of 2 under the age of 4. Before I had my second child, I knew I had to do much more than just being a manicurist. Beginning of 2005, I decided to go back to beauty school to get my cosmetologist license to expand my beauty industry with more opportunities and offer more to my clients. That was one of the best investments I did for myself.

The end of 2016, I wanted a little change in the industry and decided to take some trainings for permanent makeup. Who knew I would fall in love with it and was so passionate about this procedure. During this time, I was also pregnant with my 3rd child. After having my 3rd child. I then knew I needed something more again and decided to get my real estate license since I love fixing and flipping homes. Finished real estate school and got my license January 2018. I’ve had never experienced so much stress in my whole entire life. Taking the state boards exams was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But I did it! This was something I’m so proud of and actually was one of the best accomplishment. I’m also able to help my family and friends on any of their real estate needs now. During this time, I continue to advance my permanent makeup career and travel to train more with the best artists around. In 2019, I decided to take more trainings into skincare since I’m always looking at client’s skin while doing permanent makeup. I love learning new things and want to see my clients happy and feeling younger and beautiful. You’re never too good to better yourself. It’s always good to keep learning to advance yourself and get more knowledge in any industry you’re in to keep up with all of the new trends. Now in 2020, I’m so excited to see what‘s coming and can’t wait to share with everyone once it’s all done. Through all of this, it wouldn’t have happened without the support of my family and friends.

Has it been a smooth road?
Of course, it’s been a struggle getting to where I’m at now. Trust me, no one really sees your struggles and always think “wow she’s lucky and it must be easy for her.” Nothing is ever easy! You just have to work hard to accomplish what you want in life. If you’re not happy, take that step and make the change. You’ll never know what could happen if you don’t take that risk. Taking risks always usually turns out the best. If you’re just comfortable then your life will always stay the same. Find a motivation(s) to help push you to better your life. My motivation was definitely my children. I don’t want them to struggle the way I did growing up. I don’t just hand things over to them either though. I let them see the struggles we all have to deal with to get what we want in life. This does make them learn to appreciate everything in life more.

Well, I love being in the beauty industry. I offer many things from head to toes. Permanent makeup/corrections, skincare, lash extensions, nails, waxing, henna brows and much more. I’m very passionate about making people feeling beautiful all the time. All I’m doing is just enhancing your natural beauty. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Beside beauty, I also enjoy helping others find their perfect home with real estate or giving them my opinions on renovations/remodels on their current home. Everyone should be able to come home to a home where they feel comfortable and relax after a long day from work or school. A perfect home should be your safe place.

Which women have inspired you in your life?
My mom definitely inspires me. She’s such a hard working person and selfless. She was always struggling and working as much as she can even with very little income. Supporting a family with four children wasn’t easy for her. She decided to make the change over 20 years ago and got her manicurist license. Saved up for many years and opened up her own salon. Which she knew she wanted to do for her children to fall back on so we wouldn’t struggle the way she did. Since then, the family salon continues to grow and still growing. Having all of us children in the salon with her definitely turned into something great for all of us. We all work hard for our own family after seeing what our mom did for us. My family are truly all hardworking people. They always inspire me everyday.
