Today we’d like to introduce you to Mallory Sollie.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I was young, I watched my parents both work very hard to where they got. That is exactly how they raised me. I never really knew what I wanted to do so I tried out multiple things, and I came to the conclusion that I dont like to work for people or be bossed around. So….. after I had my first child, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own photography business. I loved it since I was younger but I had no idea where this would take me. Especially because I was a self-taught photographer and there is a ton to compete with. But when I do things, I go all in. After a year and half, I was running a successful business and bringing in a good income and getting to stay at home with my kiddo.
Fast forward to baby #2 and life got harder. My husband is military, so we were living of that income and my photography income, but it got harder and harder to schedule around both our schedules and not wanting to put our kids in daycare. We were barely making it and worked opposite schedules, which meant not a lot of family time. So then I was approached with the business opportunity Rodan+Fields by a couple of friends. Well, they had actually mentioned it multiple times for about a year and I wanted nothing to do with it. I didn’t want to be that girl selling another thing on social media and I didn’t even wash my face. But… you never know until you know the facts. We needed more income and wanted more family time without having to go somewhere to work, and Rodan+Fields business plan was exactly what I wanted and what we needed. Now four years later. I have surpassed my photography income times four and I have a very successful Rodan+Fields business and a very successful photography business still, all while staying home with my now three kiddos. Living life on my own terms and working when and where I want.
Has it been a smooth road?
There is always going to be ups and downs with any business in sales or business proving a service. I believe it has to do with what the economy is like and the money that people have to spend. The biggest hurdle for me was, “what will be think” and changing my mindset on… I’m a smart women and those opinions don’t pay my bills. I do! I believe in the products I sell, the pictures I take and what I blog about, and thats what’s most important to me. BELIEF. Because when you believe you can something… there is no stopping you… you just have to START!
We’d love to hear more about your work and what you are currently focused on. What else should we know?
I am defiantly a mom that can stay home full time with my kiddos, so having something thats flexible that steal gives me purpose and something of my own has been incredible. Best of both worlds!
I specialize in photography and photographing kids, families and Newborns.
I also specialize in changing people’s lives with the business of Rodan+Fields and coaching them to their best. As well as helping thousands of people with their skincare needs.
What makes me special is that I am very personable and I have everyone’s best interest at heard and not my own. (So I have heard) I care way to deeply sometimes and I want to help everyone be successful. There is enough for everyone in this world if they actually go after it.
