Meet Trailblazer Sarah Krebs

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Krebs.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sarah. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
After having my first daughter, Avalon, I just couldn’t imagine returning to a life on the road as an event planner and spending so much time away from my family – but that didn’t mean I lost my passion to be creative and dole out advice – so emerged Lashes to Lullabies. My blog started out as a hobby and a way to connect with friends but has since turned into a go-to resource to help women feel empowered to invest in themselves. Whether it’s through their self-care, their wardrobe choices, skincare & beauty routines – I hope after a woman hits that follow button on my profile, that I can have a small part in helping them feel confident about who they are so they can conquer their own goals in a big way. I have a passion for fashion & beauty – and I like to think that I offer a deeper connection between those things and feeling good about yourself. Clothes don’t make a person, but it is amazing how the right outfit can be powerful to our mindset – it can boost our mood and confidence when we are confident in how we look. And when you’re confident, you can do anything! I have been a licensed esthetician and makeup artist for 18 years, so I artfully mix expert advice along with style tips – and let’s not forget about momlife too! There is plenty of that dabbled in as well – because I am a firm believer in supporting moms through every phase of motherhood. I now have two little girls and learn something new from them every day – and they are my reason for growing my blog. Women are truly amazing – I love raising them, supporting them, laughing with them and connecting with them. Motherhood has taught me so much about the strength that all women have inside of them, and I hope to help women tap into that in themselves.

Has it been a smooth road?
Success is never a straight line to the top, and really – what is the “top” anyways? The “top” could be something totally different for two women. So asking yourself where you want to go without comparing that to anyone else will help you determine your “why” and the reasons you want to start whatever idea you might have. I started my blog as a hobby, but then I’ll never forget the first brand that reached out wanting to do a collaboration – I was so excited! I started to think that I could turn this into something more. I do think I went about it alone for too long, not seeking advice and help from the right mentors. I’m still learning something new every single day. Growing has also been a challenge, but I’m focused on staying true to who I am and making genuine connections with my followers and hope the growth will come naturally. I love blogging – so even if this stayed a hobby – I would continue to do it. One of the other things I struggle with most is finding the time to get it all done. With two little ones at home, it’s hard to find the time – and oftentimes I’ll work at night after they go to sleep. So, knowing when to ask for help can also be really important. I think realizing that you don’t have to go out and achieve your goals alone is so important to learn at a young age. Making connections and building a network can do amazing things!

We’d love to hear more about Lashes to Lullabies.
I run a website dedicated to support women in all phases of life, and while the focus might be fashion & beauty at a glance, my true goals run a little deeper. I’ve always been a go-to gal for all my friends regarding fashion advice, skincare, makeup, and other lifestyle things. I’ve been known to research things a little too much before making a purchase – because I’m always trying to get the very best for the very best price possible. So, it seemed natural to turn this passion of mine into a blog to help more women! I am your personal shopper, recommending products I’ve put to the test and truly believe in and without bias. But I also want to show women that by investing in themselves through fashion & beauty – they can create self-confidence that will help them achieve their own goals, whatever that may be. A lot of times, women tend to put everyone else’s needs above their own – and so I want to be that friend who reminds you to take time for yourself & invest in some self-care. Together we can maximize your wardrobe choices and beauty routines so that you feel good about yourself every single day.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?
The most important advice I would want to give to a younger woman who is just starting her career is to invest time in self reflection to truly discover your “why” so that you know what you’re passionate about and create a reason behind every choice you make to keep getting closer to your “why”. I think all too often, we compare ourselves to each other and what might look like something you want, might not be. So, spending time with yourself and then letting yourself guide your decisions is a major key to what success looks like for you. I also think it is so important to not conform to an ideal that someone else has created just to “get the job” – because if you do, you likely won’t be happy in that job. Being true to who you are – knowing you are YOU for a reason because you are needed somewhere and to someone – that will bring you more happiness and a fulfilling life & career.
