Meet Trailblazer Sophia Ibarra

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sophia Ibarra.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sophia. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been in love with beauty, coming from a family where my grandmother at 75 still colors her hair and does her eyebrows and a mother who has a million lipsticks it was pretty embedded in me. Lol. My grandmother would make me tweeze her brows when I was a child. As time went on and trying to figure out what I wanted to do as an adult along with my singing career and schedule, I eventually ended up at esthetician school and LOVED waxing. Have loved it ever since and haven’t looked back.

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, I have been lucky enough to have had a smooth road. Some struggles have include lack of knowledge in certain areas or certain employers in which I had felt unhappy or like a robot. Then again those are the struggles that taught me the most and really brought out my true self. The advice that I would give young women is, go all in and don’t be scared to mess up. You will always learn from everything you do if you let yourself be teachable.

We’d love to hear more about I’m Naked Wax.
I own a beautiful waxing boutique here in Denver. I specialize in eyebrows and Brazilians but I do anything from head to toe for both men and women. I’m proud to have grown as much as I have in the past year. I have already expanded into a bigger space and am super excited to see how much I grow and how many more beautiful people I get to meet along the way. What sets me apart from others is that I am me, this is my brand and it is important to me that my clients feel cared for and loved that it’s not just a quick hustle but that I truly care for their skin and the hair removal that goes along with it.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well positioned for?
I feel like women are such amazing creatures because we can adapt to our everything. We learn, we do, and we accomplish. As long as we are devoted and want it we can do whatever we would like and so much more. Every woman is unique and just like every person, we all have our strengths. If we go 110% it can be done regardless of what it is.
