Meet Trey Triple A.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Triple A.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Trey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’ve been through a lot in my lifetime, being born with various health issues and spending most of my childhood in the hospital has played a huge role in who I am as a person as well as a creative/artist. I was born two months premature which lead to a series of surgeries starting at 1month old, everything from underdeveloped lungs, heart positioned in the middle rather than the left side of my chest, stomach is wrapped around my esophagus, 16 inches of my bowels removed and the list goes on! My major goal originally was to be in the NBA as I played basketball growing up (the only sport doctors cleared me for), but when I was 15 years old out of nowhere I developed strange symptoms that lead to the diagnosis of SMA syndrome I could not eat any solid food at all, I had a feeding tube placed up my nose and at 15 was embarrassed to even come out the house, I was in bed rest with no food for 9months straight this forced me to drop out of school and made it impossible for me to ever play basketball again I was devastated within this time I picked up the pen and pad and began to write my thoughts and feelings it quickly became an obsession of mine to write music. Oddly my burdens (unfortunate health issues) that I was born with became my blessing leading me down the path I am currently on as a thriving independent hip hop artist. I moved back to Atlanta shortly after getting my feeding tube removed from my nose and placed in my abdomen, while in Atlanta I was connected with various managers producers and artists that allowed me to shadow them through different processes this is where I gained the knowledge necessary to begin my own journey into music.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road has been full of obstacles for me, but that is the beauty of the journey, not everything is going to go as planned but it’s always good to be prepared with a plan b just in case! In my younger years, I had dealt with everything from being scammed to completely being overlooked as I was just eager to get ahead! Throughout time the balance of life and pursuing dreams has been hard to maintain it seems as if life and music are always at opposite ends of the spectrum as one does good the others not quite there. Funding is always a major challenge, it is not cheap to enter the entertainment business especially as an entertainer when you aren’t working with any investors sometimes the biggest struggle to stay consistent stems Solely from little to no budget. But these are pretty common basic challenges, life’s always going to throw you curve balls you just have to figure out a way to cope and push through, at least that is what I did and continue to do as I face more obstacles daily.

What should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Trey Triple A. is a 25-year-old singer/rapper/songwriter. I started my musical journey in Atlanta Georgia, where I shadowed various people within the music and entertainment industry. My brand is all about creating your own cool! I’m really into fashion and one thing I am well known for is my sense of style and edgy ideas when it comes to my day to day attire but I purposely wear thrift clothes and none of the “cool” brands because I want to represent being your own person and standing out rather than fitting into societies standard. I specialize in melodic new wave rap but I am very versatile offering unlimited sounds and patterns everything from those emotional fall vibe songs to the typical party rap music. I think what sets me apart from the rest is my ability to take the uncool and make it cool, confidence is key and I think too many people pressure themselves to be this superficial character they see on Instagram. I’m most proud of being myself and representing for the less fortunate!

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I think when people hear the word “success” they automatically think of it as the overall outcome or as a final stop in the journey. In my opinion, success is simply setting goals and achieving those goals no matter how small or big. If you’ve completed a task or accomplished a goal you’ve set then you have managed to succeed within that area, and the more you set these small goals and slowly mark them off the quicker you will reach that long term or major goal. Success is not a material possession, you can not hold success and I think when people realize that they will not drive themselves crazy trying to reach something that was never there to begin with. Being able to do what you love, living comfortable, financially stable whether it’s an apartment or mansion you are successful in my eyes because you chose to do something and you got it done!
