Meet Vera and Vika Girenko of Vera Euro Skin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vera and Vika Girenko.

Vera, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After immigrating from Russia, I studied to become a licensed aesthetician to pursue my love of beauty and cosmetics. Within the 20 years of my practice, I quickly discovered the lack of honest, good, and safe products in the dramatically under-regulated industry. What was safe was not effective, and what was effective was not safe; I wanted both for my customers and loved ones. In efforts to bring about a better beauty brand, Vera Euro Skin– an honest brand with effective, high-quality products– was created. Rooted in Russian and European beauty fundamentals, the mission of Vera Euro Skin is to prioritize natural avenues to increase the health and appearance of skin. With the belief that good beauty products should not be over-priced and exclusive, I strive to continue developing skin care, mineral makeup, and body care products that are good, safe, and effective for all skin types of all ages.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The reality of small business is that there is no such thing as a smooth road. It is hard to compete with massive beauty conglomerates in this saturated industry; they obviously have resources and outreach that we do not. With social-media influencers often promoting flashy, low-quality, and high-ticket brands, potential customers turn their heads on smaller, quieter brands with a better product. We understand that it is always scary to try new products on your body– adverse results, reactions, or simply wasting money is always a concern– however, when our customers find products in our selection that work for them, they never turn back. We are so grateful for our customer base, especially the long-term customers that have been using our products for decades and have stuck with us during our growth and development. We believe in our products because we know what we put in them. That’s why we want to reach as many people as possible, to show them that good beauty products don’t have to be a gift that you can only afford once a year, or so damaging to your skin that they detract from your natural beauty rather than enhance it. The biggest challenge is finding those customers that will take a chance on a small company with a big message: to #UseBetterBeautyProducts.

Vera Euro Skin – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
What sets us apart is the honesty of our brand. Each of our products has a clear, comprehensive ingredient list, so our customers know exactly what they are buying. We do not mark-up our products to generate exclusivity: our prices affordable and accessible to our customers. We want everyone to have the opportunity to use better beauty products on their skin, improve its health, and enhance it’s natural beauty.

Our Mineral Makeup is unique in that it is comprised of a maximum of 4, non-toxic ingredients with no fillers, chemical preservatives, or damaging additives. The very popular Mineral Foundation keeps our customers coming back bottle after bottle because not only does it make your skin look even and smooth, but it protects from UV rays thanks to a natural SPF. It does not clog pores or cause break-outs, and it does not irritate, dehydrate, or damage your skin like other foundations often do. The professionally formulated skincare line contains the highest-quality of industry-leading ingredients. We aim to include as many natural ingredients as possible, while maintaining effective, result-producing products. The recently added Vegan Body Care line is handmade with 100% natural, vegan, gluten-free, GMO-free, food-grade ingredients and the purest, aromatheraphy grade essential oils.
