Meet WesDawg

Today we’d like to introduce you to WesDawg.

Thanks for sharing your story with us, WesDawg. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
What got me started with the music was my friends going to prison after graduation in 2010. From there, I took it to another level with the music and started telling our stories with the things we have been through to telling my own stories of what I been through while they been locked up. It’s been ten years and I’m still pushing at it. My friends and family are still in jail till this day and I been holding it down since 2010. I’m from Montbello, where we are overlooked for our talent and community. Just want to be able to bring something big back to the town and give back to my neighborhood

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For the most part, everything has been a smooth. There are times when things start to get a Lil hard but if it ain’t getting hard, that means you ain’t getting close to reaching success. Nothing comes easy when you’re trying to be great.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I’m an artist but at the same time my manager/brother Chris Jackson has a hat brand that he is finna launch later this year.

And I also just dropped a new project as well. https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-wolf-of-montbello/1497860995

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I wouldn’t do anything different I feel deep down I did it all the right way and when the time comes, I’ll be on top when it’s all said and done.
