Meet Willow Bradner of The Accidental Psychic in Golden

Today we’d like to introduce you to Willow Bradner.

Willow, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I was SIMPLY NOT EXPECTING THIS!

For 15 years I owned my own hair salon.

I listened and gave what I thought was just super advice all day every day to my clients as I creatively styled their hair. I assumed I was just really brilliant as the advice I offered had people coming back for more, calling me on the weekends when I was off, and even showing up at my house from time to time…

I just didn’t know the advice I was giving was psychic. That was an accident.

Here is how I witnessed my clients at that time.

I listened to their inner whispers

I want to be truly seen. I want to make a big impact in the world. I want to feel loved. I want to experience true financial comfort. I want freedom to make my own decisions

I also heard their greatest fears…I’m not good enough to do what I want. There is not enough time or money to do what I want. I do not want to be alone. I am afraid. I do not believe I am enough

I can see the light in everyone… I see the TRUTH, Their true potential, their abilities, their masks of fear, self-doubt, and comparison. Every day a woman would sit down and point out her appearance with disdain…and list the reasons she couldn’t fulfill her dreams. My heart ached for a way to reveal truth and potential to these ladies in my salon.

It was my wedding night that everything changed. After copious beverages had been consumed and everyone had left the party, my body and voice shifted like Whoopie Goldberg in Ghost it was my dad who recognized the words that came out of my mouth and said, “oh my god, I think you are channeling my father!”

Suddenly, it was as if permission had been granted to the other side and my new husband’s mother who I had never met also came in… but my husband, drunk and not expecting this stood up as if to say, “I did not sign up for girl who talks to dead people…” and he went to bed leaving my parents and me to uncover this strange channel my drunkenness had brought us to.

Naturally, we all woke up with massive hangovers and DOUBT.

We all doubted what had happened. But from that night until I was properly trained if I had so much as a beer, my friends and strangers at bars were getting messages from beyond.

I was simply not expecting this. I was Accidentally Psychic.

So, I tucked it away.

When my daughter was born a year later this feeling knocked and wouldn’t let up. I knew at that moment I would have to follow this strange psychic call.

When I decided to go into the psychic field, I did what I did as a hairstylist. I found all the best people to train me.

From local celeb Deb Sheppard to International author and psychic Sonia Choquette to name a couple.

I’ve been “out” of the psychic closet officially for the last three years.

Has it been a smooth road?
This road has been so challenging.

Hair- that was an easy business and business model- people will like you, they all need their hair done, super easy to translate into business.

Psychic!!! Well, there were a few things I had to do first:

1. I had to get past pleasing people. With hair, the goal is to complete the job to the clients liking.
   -Psychic you deliver the truth! That means they may not like you…. That is and was SUCH a challenge for me.
2. I had to work on my own personal judgment and demons like the ol’ “Who am I to deliver this info…” “will I be good enough…” “what if the psychic doesn’t work…” “what if they don’t like me.”
   -I am sure there was more…. but that took two years.
3. Marketing aka- being seen and known as a psychic. I still tell people I’m a hairstylist in certain circles. Because not everyone is down with this strange thing I can do.
4. Really getting comfy with ME and MY version of this. There is a koolaid in the  spiritual community and in many circles it has a certain dogma wrapped in HOW this is supposed to look. And then there are the people who simply think Psychic is horsesh*t. The way I am with this ability is right between skeptic and knowledge. I believe to deliver the messages that our spirits are trying to get to us we have to meet everyone where they are. Deep esoteric messages don’t always translate, but if you throw in some grounded metaphors and a fart joke the message can land in almost any crowd.

My success has come as I have begun to embrace my middle of the road psychic, comic, spiritual, realist side.
As I’ve gone into the world more boldly and bluntly, what I am trying to psychically share is being more well received.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I felt a lot of pressure in the beginning to do psychic like my predecessors. Like because I can speak to those who have crossed over I have an obligation to deliver messages to those missing loved ones.

But it wasn’t a fit for me. To be perfectly transparent it didn’t bring me joy to experience the sorrows of others, or act like a payphone to heaven in some cases.

So I had to step back and assess, who I was at my core and what I wanted.

I am obsessed and I mean eat, sleep, dream entrepreneurship. So, as a psychic, I can do all the traditional formats but my sweet spot. The place I love to thrive and jive with people is in their startup or that precipice of change and transformation.

Whether I am acting as their GPS in business and helping them build their blueprint or guiding them through their personal blocks and hurdles, I find my abilities are most amplified here. I still bring in loved ones from the other side and connect people to their divine helpers, but it is all grounded in business.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how metropolitan and foody it’s getting. I remember thinking how small and insignificant Denver was in my 20’s. Now, at the tender young age of 42, I feel like Denver has been discovered and is just flourishing like crazy.

I love the big bright ideas and how we are learning to work in collaboration with spaces like Nurture and the countless WeWork like offices.

I believe we as humans we are working backwards to find and reconnect with each other and get off our devices and social media… but yet feel the need and connection of those as well.

Denver is a thriving hub of creativity, intellect, and function. We are just going to keep getting better at it.
