Meet Hope Marie Hooper

Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Marie Hooper.

Hope Marie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up in Savannah, GA and for many years, I worked in my family’s flower shop. I watched as my family worked hard to run the business and I found pride in knowing that we had the most beautiful floral arrangements in town. My family served their customers well and always went over and beyond. Not only did I learn that hard work and perseverance were requirements to run a successful business, but I learned that doing the right thing for the customer was always the right choice.

I developed an interest in real estate and sales as a young professional working for a property management company in Houston, TX. After transferring to Denver, CO in 2001, I eventually earned my real estate license in 2004. I made it my mission to learn the business, become confident in my market, sharpen my negotiating skills and develop my sales strategies. Above all else, I have strived to work with integrity and it is crucial that I lead my clients through transactions as though I am taking care of my closest friends.

Today, I have my own family. My two sons have had quite the exposure to my business the same as I did as a child in the flower shop. I talk to them about real estate and sales often. They watch and listen to me counsel many individuals and families through their largest financial investments. They know how to correctly pronounce Realtor and I’d be willing to bet they can spell mortgage. I hope that I am showing my sons that I am proud to provide excellent service and top-notch representation to my clients.

I am proud to say that I have achieved awards based on sales production as well as nominations from clients who feel that I provided quality service through their real estate purchases and sales. I am thankful to work for locally owned and operated RE/MAX Professionals since 2008. I enjoy the support of my company and am continuously improving my market knowledge and skills so that I can offer the best representation to my clients as they purchase and sell their homes.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I started in real estate in 2004 at which time the Denver market became known for having the highest foreclosure rate in the nation. Sixty percent of the homes I sold in 2006 were either short sales or foreclosures. With over 24,000 homes for sale at the time, dicey lending practices and everyone wanting a deal I definitely learned in the school of hard knocks. I didn’t have a lot of money for advertising so I knocked on doors, gave a business card to everyone I met and held 3-4 open houses every weekend. It was hard work to build up my business, but it was an incredible experience and I am so thankful for the lessons that I learned by starting off in a distressed market. The perseverance I learned in the family business helped me to keep going even when it was tough.

Please tell us more about what you do, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a Realtor with RE/MAX Professionals specializing in residential home sales and purchases. I represent both home buyers and sellers and am known for being the voice of reason in a sea of opportunities and confusion when it comes to real estate decisions. My clients have said that they love being able to call me or meet with me to discuss real estate ideas when they begin having. They know that I will lay out the options and point out strategies that might help them achieve what they are hoping.

I am thankful to be a part of the RE/MAX family which backs up my qualifications as a professional in an industry which has a lot of competition. The individual service that I provide to my clients sets me apart from big teams, mega agents and many part-timers. I am most proud of my ability to provide straight talk and solid service.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I have had a number of supporters and advocates over the course of my career. I learned from the best in real estate and continue to look within my company for other successful Realtors from whom I can utilize techniques. Many of the people who have kept me going have been clients and the success stories they have had through our real estate experiences. I feel the most supported when my clients and friends refer their loved ones to me when they are in need of real estate services.
