Meet JB Kellogg of Madwire® in Fort Collins

Today we’d like to introduce you to JB Kellogg.

JB, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
My dad and I founded Madwire in 2009, when I was 28 years old, in the midst of a recession. We knew at that time that small businesses were going to need to jump on the digital bandwagon, and fast if they wanted to grow. We started Madwire with a mission to help small businesses grow, and that mission has held true ever since. We grew the company to over 100MM+ in revenue and 500+ employees in under ten years and have over 20,000 SMB clients in over 100 industries around the world.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing easy is ever worth being proud of, and that holds true for founding and growing Madwire. With our extremely fast growth, we quickly learned that processes that worked for 50 employees didn’t work for 150, and what worked for 150 certainly didn’t work for 500. Through process changes, team structure changes, and new product developments, we’ve continued to awesomize our processes and are proud of how far we’ve come. The world of technology is always changing, and that presents some unique challenges, as well. We tell prospective team members that if they don’t like change, this industry is not for them. Being able to adapt to the ever-changing landscape is a must.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Madwire® story. Tell us more about the business.
Madwire is a technology company that provides business management and marketing software and services for SMBs and franchises. Through our brands – Marketing 360, Websites 360® and Top Rated Local® – we enable SMBs to do everything from build a website to accept payments, manage leads and customers, appointments, online reviews, social media, business listings, content marketing, multi-channel digital advertising campaigns and more. There is nothing else on the market like the Marketing 360 platform.

Our motto and standard at Madwire is Execution Excellence, and we expect our entire team to uphold that standard in everything they do. I am most proud of our team culture that we have created, and the impact that we are making on the world.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Our goal has, and always will be, to help small businesses grow, and wherever that takes us, it takes us. With that being said, I think more and more businesses will continue to turn to technology to both manage and grow their business. In doing so, they will be seeking a singular platform that has everything they need within one login, one payment and one team. That’s what we’re building with Marketing 360.
