Exploring Life & Business with Peggy Haddad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peggy Haddad.

Hi Peggy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Over three years ago, we purchased a home and did a full renovation. After seeing the finished product, many of my friends started asking for help with their homes. I enjoyed decorating for them so much that I began dreaming about starting my own business. Since I have two small children, I wanted to be able to work from home and help people virtually. I also saw a need for more affordable and accessible interior design/decorating services. Out of this vision, my virtual studio ‘for any style and any budget’ was born. I have a business degree and am also a CPA, so I wasn’t hesitant about running a business. After helping several friends with their homes in 2019, I officially launched Peggy Haddad Interiors in January 2020. Then came the pandemic, and people were spending more time at home and were increasingly motivated to create a comfortable environment there. So, the timing worked out well for my business model. With so much interest in my custom e-design services and not enough time to help everyone individually, I created other ways to serve my audience or anyone who needed a little help with their home. We have a free style survey, a home shop where you can shop by style, and a lot of other shopping and design resources on our website and social media. We are thrilled to announce that we’ll be launching our new website in the next few months, where anyone can shop fully furnished rooms in all different styles – stay tuned!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest challenge has been balancing being a mom and a business owner. Any fellow enneagram 3’s out there will understand this struggle! I love my girls so much; they are my top priority. I also really enjoy working and have big dreams and aspirations for my business. I take a lot of pride in serving my clients well. During COVID when there was no in-person school, no childcare, and my husband was working from home too, we struggled with how to best structure our days. It has been a difficult season for working moms! I am trying to stick to a schedule and keep first things first during this time when my children are young. I am grateful for the flexibility in my schedule, as it allows me to spend a lot of time with them.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Peggy Haddad Interiors?
Designing a collected home on your own can be overwhelming and time consuming. Virtual design with PHI is for those who need help with an overall vision and sourcing, but can execute the project themselves (purchasing and installation). We charge a fixed fee to do all the shopping for you, and you decide what you want to invest in, on your timeline. It’s easy, fun, personalized to your style and budget, and all done via e-mail/phone! The process includes online questionnaires, a phone consultation (optional), and two rounds of design board revisions. Your design package includes the design/mood boards, a digital floorplan (2D and 3D), shopping list, and install guides. If a e-design does not fit your budget or timeline (there is currently a wait to work with us), we offer free design and shopping resources, including: our style survey, shoppable design boards (coming soon!), access to the same ‘to-the-trade’ furniture we source for clients (via the PHI Home Shop), and more. You can sign up for our newsletter at peggyhaddadinteriors.com and be the first to know about our new website launch. Our current website is still live at peggyhaddad.com. OUR MISSION: Environment matters and can promote joy, comfort, rest and hospitality. I believe these things ultimately point to God, and being at home with Him (1 Peter 1:8 // Psalm 23:4 // Hebrews 4:10 // John 14:2). I am passionate about bringing life and beauty into houses to help them become ‘home’. It’s not about perfection, or materialism, or keeping up – it’s about creating a comfortable, inviting space that you love to do life in! We know that many people do not have a place to call home. This is why PHI gives over 10% of our profits to organizations that serve the homeless, underemployed, and unemployed in the Denver area. We are proud to support Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Denver Dream Center, Denver Rescue Mission, and Thrive – Transformation at Work.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I don’t really believe in ‘luck’ per se. I believe in hard work and taking advantage of opportunities that come my way. There have been some fortunate opportunities that helped me jump start my business. 😉 For example, early on, some close friends were starting to plan a significant renovation. They saw my passion and excitement and trusted me enough to hire me to help with the design. The end result was an incredibly stunning kitchen and living space. I attribute a lot of my success thus far to the many referrals that came from that project.
