Ann, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Being a Colorado licensed cosmetologist for 33 years, albeit non-practicing for most of those years, I love the beauty industry.
In the past year, I discovered a passion for spray tanning. I was going through chemotherapy, after having the Whipple surgery to remove a cancerous growth on my pancreas, and feeling pretty lousy. On a whim, I decided to try a spray tan, and was hooked! It made me feel so amazing, I wanted to share it with as many people as possible!
Once I was through with treatments, I did some research and found a wonderful organic product, Aviva Labs. The stars were aligned as a space opened up at Blue Lion Salon Suites, where my good friend Kimtastic works her hair magic, and Spray on Sunshine was born.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I am learning so much every day, about starting a business, social media, and people. It is a challenge for an introverted homebody like me, but I love it!

We offer an organic, safe alternative for tanning while providing a supportive, positive experience.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My family spent a lot of time outdoors, camping, fishing, you name it. Til this day, nature is where I feel most at peace.
